« on: Friday 15 October 21 08:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi all, just asking for advice about my kindle, my daughter bought me one 4 years ago and i've bought between 15-20 history books that i can read over & over, still adding to collection, my question is, is it worth putting books on external hardrive as was suggested in article i came across, my daughter says its not worth the effort, i dont even know if it can be done as easy as article suggested, hoping some one can tell me.
All the best.

Durham / Newcastle Chambers of Commerce.
« on: Tuesday 05 January 21 11:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all, some time in 90s? The Newcastle Chambers of Commerce was opened, inside the building foyer a largish model ship was on display, at some time it was stolen and I wondered if this model ship was ever recovered.
The ship was the Wentworth a merchant ship, my late father sailed on her in Atlantic convoy ONS5 1943 UK to St Johns Nova Scotia, it was attacked along with several other merchant ships between 5-6 May.
Always wondered if police ever recovered the m8del ship.
All the best.

« on: Friday 08 May 20 15:57 BST (UK)  »
Hi all, I would like to ask a question, my grandaughter has drawn me a copy of this photo which I sent to her
( it was a screen shot) I hoped to get A2 enlargment but she dosn't know the resolution or could tell me how big it would enlarge to, I know I would lose quality getting to large a photo but is thier a way to find out?
Sorry if this is a silly question but I was born 200 yrs to late, techno goes right over my head. Attached copy of screen shot.
My grandaughter drew this copy in an Ipad and does not know Dpi?
Thanks, all the best Derek.

World War One / Evacuating wounded
« on: Wednesday 26 February 20 11:33 GMT (UK)  »
My grandad was wounded twice during the great war, first wound between 12th & 20th October 1914, he was with 2nd batt Kings Own Scottish Borderers, 2nd wound 1st July 1916 Somme, both times brought back to UK for treatment, what ship or ships would have been used, would names exist (records) showing who was on which ship,
second wound with 1st batt Kings Own Scottish Borderers.
Would records (names) still exits showing which ships brought lads back to UK.
All the best.

Hi, please can some one tell me in simple terms ???
If I buy a tablet with micro usb port:
Would a usb adaptor cable then enable me to connect up to my external hardrives,
then can I view and transfer files.
I've an old laptop and several external hardrives with music/photos/ancestry on them.
I would like to know if I bought a tablet with micro usb &  usb adaptor would I still be able to
view/tranfer files in same way as I would with old laptop.
All the best.
