Occupation Interests / Inspector in the Specials

Hi
Does anyone know if there are records of people who served as Specials in the Police force?  My grandad was an Inspector in the 1950/60's, probably in Darwen/Blackburn or possibly Bolton. ::)

Hi everyone
I have been trying for years to trace the birth/baptism and parents of my great x 3 grandfather Thomas Beeley (1816/17).  On all the censuses he claims to have been born in either High Lane or Marple, Cheshire.  High Lane is a tiny village and only had one church which wasnt in use until the 1860's.  Marple is bigger with quite a few churches.  Please help :-*
