Travelling People / was he a gypsy?
« on: Friday 26 October 12 05:34 BST (UK)  »
Wanting to find out more about my ancestor Anthony Ogden who was a besom maker from Birdwell, Yorkshire. From watching an episode of WDYTYA they mentioned the most besom makers were gypsies. Anthony paid land tax to Earl Fitzwilliam in 1798.
Could he have been a gypsy?

New Zealand Completed Requests / descendants of Abraham Denton
« on: Friday 28 September 12 06:43 BST (UK)  »
Hello
I am researching my 3rd great grand uncle Abraham Denton who went from England to New Zealand in 1874. He went to New Zealand with his wife Mary Ann Handy and their four children; Alice Mary, William Henry, Beatrice Louise and Frederick Richard. And after they got to NZ they had two more children; Emily Letitia and Walter Frederick. I believe that they did have a total of 8 children.

I know that Abraham was a cab driver in Christchurch, and that he went bankrupt. Also from my research I have found that his wife Mary had an affair with a guy called John Harper.

What I am trying to find is if there is any of his descendants still alive and living in New Zealand, and how would I go about finding them.
