Derry (Londonderry) / Lookinf For. STEWARTS/McGINLAYS
« on: Thursday 24 May 12 16:46 BST (UK)  »
Ok Fellow Rooters  I have moved my search for My great Great Grandparents to Londenderry Possibly Coleraine. This might be a bit of a mix up but plz bare with me lol...
Ok the names I'm looking for are Joseph McKinley And Wife Helen/Ellen Stewart, Or it could be Joesph Stewart & Ellen McKinley... The reason for the Query  is My Great Grandfather John Stewart came to Scotland Govan Lanark In the Mid 1870's as did many from Ireland... That's all i know He was from Ireland.. Now when he was Married in Govan 1879 to Maryann White. he was married using the Name  John McKinley, and his parents were listed as Joseph McKinley & Helen Stewart. Now he was a wanted man at the time he left Ireland... So he later moved to Port Glasgow then changed his name to John Stewart Using his Mothers Maiden name... which we have been led to believe Because it was thought maybe someone had caught up with him.. But now im thinking  Maybe it was changed at the start so he wouldn't be found.. then Reverted back to his Original name of Stewart.... Can any one sort this out and Find Joseph & Ellen... Now on Johns Death Cert: his parents are listed as  Joseph Stewart & Ellen McKinley....
I have found Birth in Londonderry for Hannah Stewart 07 Sept 1965 her parents were Joseph Stewart & Helen McKinley... Can anyone check this out for me please Maybe a Census somewhere for them....

Please any help or lead would be very greatful thanks ... Ramsay
