US Lookup Requests / New England/New Hampshire
« on: Sunday 08 March 09 05:27 GMT (UK)  »
My gr gr grandfather Arthur Edward Espley b 1877 in Chell Staffordshire left his family and I have recently discovered that he went to New England/New Hampshire. he wasnt in England in the 1911 census, his wife, my gr gr grandma  was with her new man and said they had been married 7 years which was a lie as she married in 1923. My grandfather was born in 1900 and his brother in 1901 and I have the certificates with him listed as father so he must have left between 1901 and 1911. I have looked in the shipping on FindMyPast and no record of him on there. I wonder if anyone has access to any other arrival lists that he may show up on. Apparantly many years ago the red cross searched for him by which time he had passed away so even his death record would be soemthing

Thankyou for your time

Mayo / Cain from Newfield Nr Newport
« on: Sunday 15 February 09 23:59 GMT (UK)  »
Found my ancestor on the 1911 census and finally gives her place of birth as Newfield Nr Newport Co Mayo which I understand is in the barony of Burrishoole. Does anyone know of how I could go about finding births or baptisms for this area from c1830 to 1840. The next child born in  1846 was born in Stockport, Cheshire, England. How did they get to England in those days, did they have to emmigrate and if so are there records?
Thanks for any help and information you can give me

Suffolk Completed Lookup Requests / WELTON - Marriage St Matthew, Ipswich
« on: Saturday 27 October 07 05:49 BST (UK)  »
I have the following marriage off the IGI

Nathaniel Walton to Hannah Artis 26 Sept 1831. Is there anyone that could look this up and see if it says Hannah was a widow as I also have this marriage Hannah Rose to Joshua Artis 19 April 1827 Barham Suffolk or a death for Joshua Artis

I have a Welton ancestor who says parets are Hannah and Nathaniel Welton, unable to unearth anything as Hannah is in the workhouse in 1841 and 1851 with all the children. She is remarried by 1861 and have purchased this marriage certificate and it says she is a widow and her father is Edmund Rose so am wondering if I am on the right track above

I have Nathaniel Welton married to Hannah. Their first child William was born in Barham c1833. In the 1841 census Hannah is there alone and is aged 30,(At the top is says Barham and Claydon Union House) is this the workhouse as they are in the workhouse in 1851? she was born in Otley. In 1857 on William marriage certiifcate it says father Nathaniel Welton deceased Husbandman

« on: Saturday 24 March 07 05:33 GMT (UK)  »
I only have a british subscription to ancestry so was wondering if some kind person could do a look up for me. I did a search of the index and it shows

Joseph Brown Albany New York and Robert Brown Albany New York

If this is the right one then Joseph was born c1831 and Robert is his father

Any other info on Joseph whould be much appreciated. He was a Negro minstrel (Christy Minstrel). We have him In England in 1871 but nothing further
