Radnorshire / John Roberts
« on: Friday 25 November 16 03:51 GMT (UK)  »
HI,

I am trying to track John Roberts who was born in 1860.  According to Census records, he was born in Prestergne.   His wife was Eliza and his mother was Mary.

By late 1800s he was living in Ludlow where his mother was living too.   Any suggestions would be great,

Ayrshire / William Collins - Craigle
« on: Sunday 26 July 15 03:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am trying to track a distant Great Uncle who supposely came from Craigle.  His name was William Collins and was born around 1808.   The first record that I have for William was his passenger record.  He emigrated around 1839 with his future wife (and family), Margaret Campbell on the ship, Francis.   There was a Mary Elizabeth Collins (age 11) who was listed as a passenger too.

Is there any to find out if I have the correct information on William.  His occupation was listed as a stone mason here in the US (Wisconsin).

Thank you,
Dawn

United States of America / Schuyler Waldron - died in Nebraska
« on: Saturday 27 June 15 03:17 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I am trying to track down my 3rd great grandfather, Rev. Schuyler Waldron.  He was born in Canada and emigrated with his family to Wisconsin.  He was a Methodist Minister.  Sometime in th early 1880s he went to live with some of his children in South Dakota.  His daughter, Bessie Waldron Axtell was living in Nebraska and was ill.   He supposedly went to help her out in which she passed away around 1901 in Beatrice. Supposedly, Schuyler died in Nebraska (according to another daughter's obit) not long after.  I am not familiar with Nebraska's resources.
Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks!

Kent / River Hall - Biddenden
« on: Saturday 27 June 15 03:11 BST (UK)  »
HI,

I am asking for any suggestions on finding a history of a house.  The name of the house is River Hall and according to cousins the house is still around.
From what I am told, it is a different type of genealogy to research this type of genealogy.

My family is the Beales who have been in the Biddenden area since the 1600s?   The later generations supposedly lived at River Hall.

Is there records on this type of history?

Thanks for your time,
Dawn

Any suggestions would be great.

Ireland / Mary Loony (Lunny) - born around 1776
« on: Friday 26 June 15 04:53 BST (UK)  »
HI,

I am trying to track down my many great grandmother, Mary Lunny (Looney).  She had eloped and perhaps married John Campbell.    The earliest record that I have her is her children's baptism in early 1800s in Scotland (St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Glasgow.)  She emigrated to Wisconsin (USA) in May, 1838 with her family.  The US census has her listed as Irish.

The family story goes is that she was living with her family in Ireland and fell in love with John, who was a Scottish soldier in Ireland.  They ran away (while hiding in a haycart) and left for Scotland (against her family wishes).    I know that both John and Mary were 63 on the passenger records in 1838 and both died months from each other in 1849 in Wisconsin.

Does anyone have suggestions where to began?   I know that her daughter and granddaughters carried the name of Lunny or Lundy as their middle name.  There were also some Elizabeths and Marys for a few generations.

Thanks for your time,
Dawn

Scotland / Immigrantion to America - Campbells & Collins family 1838
« on: Friday 26 June 15 04:43 BST (UK)  »
HI,

I am trying to track down my ancestors who traveled to American from Scotland in May, 1838.  Their ship, Frances, traveled from Greenock to NY.

The whole family came including two future son-in-laws and a niece.   Their names were: John Campbell & his wife, Mary Lunny (from Ireland). Their children and future husbands, Andrew Patton (from Shotts) and William Collins (maybe from Craigle) and his daughter, Mary Collins (?).

The main question is if there are records showing this family leaving Scotland?  The only time that I have placed John Campbell and his wife, Mary is the baptism of most of their children at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Glasgow in the early 1800s.   William Collins came with them.  There is a Mary Collins who came with the group who I suspect is William's daughter.   The reason that I suspect that is there is a 1860 US Census of a Mary Kelland (misspelt for Collins?) who was living with Margaret Collins (John & Mary's daughter) in Wisconsin. William had married Margaret in Wisconsin and died young in the late 1840s.

Any suggestions would be great.  John Campbell and his wife, Mary has been a road block.  The only other record of them is that they both died months of each other in 1849 Wisconsin.  They were in the early 60s when they went to America.

Thanks for your time,
Dawn

Antrim / BEALE - Belfast
« on: Tuesday 22 March 11 03:14 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I am trying to find more information on my great grandfather's brother.   Thomas Beale was born in Kent County, England around 1829.  He supposely married and moved to the Belfast area to work in Customs?   I have his sister, Francis come and help him with children when he became a widow.   His sister married Archibald Morris.

That is all that I know about Thomas.  Any suggestions would be great
