Berkshire / Marriage and baptism of John Cripps
« on: Sunday 17 November 13 13:49 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
After some very useful help I received from members on Rootschat earlier this year, I've decided to ask for some more help to try and find the marriage and baptism of John Cripps (late of Buckland, Berks). I believe he married Isabella ... around 1650. They had six children (all I've found so far) in Buckland and John died there in the 1680's. Isabella died in 1715 and mentions a few of the children as well as a grandson in her will. I'd also love to locate John's baptism C1630. I would be so grateful to receive any information as I'm not sure where to go from here. I did locate a will for Phillip Cripps (1726) in Buckland but don't know his relationship yet. Would anyone have any idea where the name Isabella may have derived?
Thanks
Lindsay

Oxfordshire Lookup Requests / John Cripps (Crips/Crippes) Bampton
« on: Friday 28 December 12 07:47 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Could anyone help me establish the baptism and lineage and marriage of William Cripps who married Jane Pinder in Bampton, Oxfordshire around 1717. There are numerous William Cripps' around that date and area so I'm not sure who is mine. William and Jane's son, John, who was baptised C1717 is my Gt Gt Gt Gt Grandfather. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've been trying to solve this for some time now.

Cheers
Lindsay

Derbyshire / Humphrey Goodwin Born c1769
« on: Wednesday 26 December 12 03:30 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm looking for the baptism of my Gt. Gt. Gt. Grandfather, Humphrey Goodwin. He resided in Heath, near Chesterfield, for much of his life and had mining interests there. He also lived in High House, Heath. I believe he was responsible for the construction of The Elm Tree Inn at Heath and a row of workers cottages there. He was churchwarden in Heath in the early 1800's. I think Humphrey was baptised around 1769 somewhere in Derbyshire. He had quite a large family and his son, William (married to Martha Denham), was the father of my Gt. grandmother, Anne Maria Goodwin. She lived at Hasland House, Hasland, with the Claughton family until 1895. Any information about the family of Goodwins would be gratefully accepted.
Thank you

Suffolk / William BARD and Family, Bury St Edmunds
« on: Sunday 27 March 11 13:54 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to locate the origins and marriage of William Bard who was buried in Bury
St Edmunds in 1767 aged 67. He and his wife Mary had a son, William, who
was a pupil at the King Edward vii Grammar School there. William
(junior) married Martha Couzens (Dyer) and had two daughters in
Chippenham (Cambs). He also became a schoolmaster. The Bard family don't
appear to be natives of Bury and searches in the surrounding area have
proved fruitless. I've tried Boyd's Marriage Index but again, no leads.
The LDS IGI files have been checked as well. I do know that William Senior’s occupation was also a schoolmaster and that he had another child, Elizabeth, who was buried in Bury in 1741 aged 7. William’s wife, Mary, is buried in Icklingham. She died in 1793 aged 94. Any information would be gratefully received as I've been onto this for many years now.

Thank You,

Lindsay
