London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / St. Mary Staines baptism, marriage records
« on: Wednesday 11 July 12 21:13 BST (UK)  »
I have got to Ancestry and found  that I would like more information or a copy of certs. with the mother's maiden name on it.
I am looking for John Parker wife Jane ? Son Benjamin Parker christened 1 June 1806 Staines Surrey St. Mary.
John Parker wife Charity ? Son John Parker christened 20 Sept. 1767 St. Mary Staines Surrey.
I see that Staines is very close to Surrey and suppose to be in Middlesex so don't really know why Ancestry has county as Surrey.
Could someone tell me how I could find the maiden names of Jane and Charity? Also where I could get birth and marriage certs pre 1837?

Thank You, Linda in California USA

Can anyone point me to a good history book about the East part of London during the 1800's? I would like to know what it was like in Stepney during that time and when it started to change. I have heard the West in was the better side of London. Would a  Tallow Chandler be considered a good occupation back then? thank you, bparker

Could someone tell me how I find out the names of the ships that sailed from London to America on a regular bases in the 1850's? I am looking for an ancestor who paid for his passage by working on board painting the ship. I am told he fell overboard during rough seas, never made it to America. Would the ships list deaths on board in their records? The time would be between 1851 and 1857. Any idea's on where to begin my search would be helpful. thank you. bparker

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Eleanor Jane Wood Ecclesall Bierlow, burial site??
« on: Wednesday 20 July 05 05:48 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for the cemetery that holds Eleanor Jane Wood, maiden name Parker. Eleanor's husband was George Baruch Wood, maybe buried together? Eleanor died Nov. 21 1871 in Ecclesall Bierlow, county of Yorkshire. She was 35 yrs. old. Death was registered 23 of Nov. 1871. I would be most grateful for a photo of the gravesite, also if someone has access to a newspaper of that time maybe a obit write up if I am lucky. Just incase someone is researching this family, George Baruch Wood remarried a Mary Helen Ellen Mabson from Kingswood, Middlesex. George was the manager of the Iron and Steelworks in the West Riding area.
thank you for your help, bparker

I am connected to the Daws family though a marriage of Ellen Maria Daws to Thomas Brunsdon Parker married Oct 27 1863 in Pyrford. I think Ellen's parents were Thomas and Mary Ann Daws not sure. Ellen's brother was Septimus Daws not a common name. I have parish register for Pyrford and it has a few of the Daws family on it if anyone is interested.
I am looking for the family line that connects to the Parker's. Ellen and Mr. Parker lived in Essex but believe both families had relatives in Pyrford and the surrounding area.
Another name connected to the Daws name in my line is  Napper, they also lived in Pyrford and are on the parish records. Would like to make contact with researcher's of this line thank you. bparker
