Ireland / Military Archives Look Up Dublin
« on: Tuesday 05 March 24 09:52 GMT (UK)  »
Hey all!

If anyone is playing to pay a visit to Military Archives, I would appreciate a little help with a record.

I am looking to get a copy of a particular record but unfortunately they do not offer a copying service and the records can only be photographed in person.

I am not sure when I would be able to get down to do it myself so I thought I would post here in the chance someone happens to be going and wouldnt mind taking a picture of the record I am looking for.

Thanks in advance!

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Photo Date? Donaghy - Belfast - 1900s?
« on: Tuesday 17 November 20 19:41 GMT (UK)  »
Apologies for the poor quality photograph, some people just dont know how to take a good one!

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on date or location? Family is from Belfast, but the story goes that the photo was taken on the Isle of Man, although I'm not convinced as they had very little money.

Thanks in advance!

The Common Room / Free Masons Help
« on: Monday 27 July 20 13:05 BST (UK)  »
I've recently come into a possession of a possible photo of an ancestor. He was in the Freemasons of Ireland, I am just wondering if anyone can confirm that what he is wearing in this photograph is related to the masons.

He was also a registered pharmacist, not sure if this relates to the picture.

Thank You

Lanarkshire / Court Documents
« on: Saturday 26 August 17 00:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of how to go about obtaining historic court documents? Or if it is even possible?

I have an ancestor who appeared in court on bigamy charges and was sentenced to 4 months in jail!

Thanks
