Hello Chatters,
Jimmy came to Australia in the 1920s and lost his paperwork on the docks, so we have nothing in that regard.
Would like to find details of his birth/baptism and at least his WWI service. Apparently was wounded, had a plate inserted in his skull and came to Aust not long after the war. His parents thought to have died of the Spanish Flu.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Good Day everyone,
Trying to find details for this person, born 1868 in Creswick, Vict, married Ellen Amelia Blackmore in 1888 in Vict. Am unable to find any record of his or Ellen Amelia's deaths. There is a suggestion Wm died in Brisbane in about 1946, but can't find any news or record for this, They had two sons who remained firmly planted in Vict, but there is no evidence of Wm or Ellen in the Vict electoral rolls, at least nothing that points to them.
Anyone know anything or got ideas?

Greetings all,
George Carpenter was noted as a hairdresser in the '41 census, living at Lt Queen St, in St Giles in the Field. He married Jemima Gale in 1833 in St Andrew, Holborn, had a son George in 1835 , dtr Jemima in 1839, dtr Emma in 1841 with Emma's death in 1848. In all these events he is noted as a hairdresser living at Lt Queen St. (Only residence in Emma's Burial). This is all we can find on the family.  Only Geo and son Geo are at Lt Queen st in the '41 census, son Geo has gone to India as a young teenager, Geo snr is noted in '41 as aged 50 born outside Middlesex. His name is in the 1842/3 directory. There is another Geo and Jemima Carpenter in London, and details don't tally to be the same Geo we are chasing. The Geo that went to India eventually goes on to Australia and is my gt g'father.
Any thoughts on pinpointing this family?
Yours with hope,
Garry

New Zealand Completed Requests / info on Norman Decker Clough
« on: Wednesday 30 November 11 03:42 GMT (UK)  »
Trying to get some info on Norman Decker Clough. Born 1875 in Brunswick Vict, son of Peter Clough and Annie Decker.
My father's notes indicate he moved to NZ (When?) served with NZ expeditionary forces in WWI, won a DSO, returned briefly to Vict in abt 1930 and died in an accident in NZ in the 1940's.
Can find nothing in NZ records from the limited searching I can do from rural Vict, so wondering if anyone has any knowledge of him.
Any help greatly appreciated.
