Have a birth certificate with the registration district of Castletown. The father's address is given as Oak Mount. Would this have been a street address in Castletown, or somewhere within the registration district.  Moya

I am trying to trace the birth of Mary Roberts. About 1863, near Cahirciveen, Valentia Island. She was the daughter of William Roberts (a farmer) and Lucy Connell of Skibbereen Cork. All the other children of the family were born in Skibbereen.  Family information says that she was a secretary to the Knights of Kerry, but I am not sure if this is an association, or if she worked for someone privately. She was not the first born of the family, so would like to find out why she is the only one born in Kerry. Thankyou.  Moya

Researching the Connell family of Skibbereen. In Ancestry.com there is an entry for Samuel Connell, of 6 Bridge Street, died 22 June 1924, Administration London to John R Connell, effects 4976.5.9 pounds. Same entry in Proni, Belfast registry, effects 133.15.0 pounds. Why the difference.? In the Belfast registry there is no image, does that mean there isn't one or you have to apply for it? I am trying to find a birth record for Alexander Mackey, born about 1864. On his marriage certificate in 1897 he gives his father's name also as Alexander, occupation farmer. I have found some birth records for a Mackey family of Ballynure and also the 1901/1911 census lists a family in Templepatrick with the same names as the birth records. If Alexander was the eldest of this family, would his birth not been registered in 1864.  Also is Ballynure anywhere near Templewick.  The family were Presbyterian.  Alexander was a constable in the RIC before he emigrated to New Zealand in the early 1900's.  On the 1901 census he is living in Ballyhooley, Cork, birthplace given as County Antrim.  Any help would be appreciated.  Regards Moya

I have found an Alexander Campbell (Blacksmith) on the Port Glasgow valuation rolls. It only gives his name as the tenant.  Can it be assumed that his family were with him, although they are not listed. There are a lot of names listed for the same property in Ballochmyle Place, Glen Avenue, would this have been a large block of apartments ?  Does anyone know of an inexpensive way of checking birth records, I know that Alexander had a daughter (Rebecca) born in 1910 but would like to know if there were anymore children.  Thankyou  Moya
