many years ago my Dad used to get all us little snots around him and tell us stories, one in particular is probably of Yorkshire origin?, correct me if I`m wrong and maybe add another verse ---------
There was a little Monkey worth ten pound
he washed and scattered up and walked all round
he went upstairs to make his little bed
fell in the chamber pot and broke his little leg
went down the cellar to get a sup to drink
the old man catched him and put him down the sink
This is best spoken with a Yorkshire dialect for effect.
Also Dad had a chest strapping piano accordion for sing alongs, he also played the Drums in the "Hand and Shuttle" pub on Tong street.
Sorry I`m waffling, middle of the night here can`t sleep.......
