Can anyone help
Catherine Wilkinson according to Belfast Workhouse records was 21, single, roman catholic shop assistant when she was admittied on the 11th April 1929.
The address she gave was 14 Artillery Street, which was a mile from the Belfast union workhouse. On that day she gave birth to a son she named Frederick Wilkinson. They were both discharged on the 19th April 1929. What happened to Catherine after this has become a mystery. Her son Frederick was adopted/fostered by another family but then catherine disappears.
The address she gave 14 Artillery Street was resided at by Patrick Gerraghty for many years and he was a labourer. Was he the father? maybe he was related. We have hit a great big brick wall. she was too young to appear on any of the census's if indeed she did come from Ireland. We have contacted Social services with no luck. Has anyone any ideas on how to find out what happened to her. All the information we have is here. Desperately searching for some answers for my father in law who is very ill. He just wants to know where he came from,
Any information however little would be appreciated.
