Staffordshire Lookup Requests / George Hickman
« on: Monday 14 April 14 15:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi All

Thought I would start a new topic as my original one for the Hickmans is quite big.

I am looking for George Hickman born c 1849 Wolverhampton.
Father Charles Mother Mary.

He is on the 1851  HO107; Piece: 2018; Folio: 129; Page: 18;
He is on the 1861 Class: RG 9; Piece: 1991; Folio: 124; Page: 22;

I cannot find him on the 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901 or the other one.

I have found a few marriages and one which stands out is Sarah Ann Leather 1870,(BMD)
There is a Sarah Ann with George Hickman on the 1871, 1881 and 1891, BUT
he is down as being born in Birmingham, (as that was where he was living at the time of the census's,) and his occ: Brass Worker

From then on I cannot trace him or her, or even a death.

Any help will be appreciated as usual:)
Regards

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure about the marriage I found in 1867 on Free BMD
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 1891 Census I found, does not tie in with the other Census returns listed below, even though James is down as a Widower, and the occupation does not seem right either.
 Source Citation: Class: RG12; Piece: 2306; Folio: 62;

I do not have the GR Number as this was found for me by a friend.

1911 Census

Elizabeth Hickman   Wife   Age 49    M 12 years 2 children 2 living         Born Wolverhampton

Ernest Hickman   Son   Age 11                  Born Birmingham
Address: 2 Back of 27 Curzon Street, Birmingham

I have the RG number but I do not think I can put it in!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am presuming James re-married due to an Elizabeth being on the 1901 and 1911 Census, and this was the only marriage I could find:
Marriage from Free BMD 2nd Marriage.
Marriages Mar 1897   (>99%)
Hickman    James        Birmingham
Lovett    Jane Elizabeth      Birmingham
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have noticed on the 1901 that some of the children should be STEP children to James, due to their ages and the length of time James and Elizabeth were married (1911 Census) 12 years.

Also you will notice there is a William Kirby on 1911 Census, whom I think would be Elizabeth's son from a first marriage??

I am wondering if she married James in her Maiden name of Lovett, and that her first husband was named Kirby, in fact John Kirby. I found them on an earlier Census.I also found a death for John Kirby.
~~~~~~~~-
This has followed on from my first problem with Thomas Hickman born c.1884 and who married Mary Ann Evelyn Fletcher.
I have the Birth certificate for Glady May Hickman born 1920, who was his daughter, which proved that Mary Ann Evelyn Fletcher was indeed her mother.
~~~~~~~~--
I have found a marriage certificate for the said Thomas Hickman married to Mary Ann Evelyn Fletcher Sept 9th 1911, and on it his father is James Hickman.

~~~~~~~~
So, where is the James Hickman I want in 1891??
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have told you everything I can about what I have etc, hopefully to give you an insight to the Family Tree.
Thanking you in a LOT of anticipation:)
I remain
Very Respectfully
Gillianr
Warwickshire Lookup Requests / birth in 1867
« on: Sunday 05 January 14 18:14 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All
I am back again, this time it is to find the birth of Sarah Florence Smith,
born Oct. 14th 1867 and baptised July 27th 1868.
I have this record from the Baptisms from the Birmingham Library on Ancestry.
It gives me her parents as John and Mary Ann.
They have not included (Florence) Sarah's middle name.
If I could find the birth details instead of the baptism details, I would have a volume and page No
with which to order the Birth Certificate, and I need the Birth certificate, to prove who her
mother was, as there are so many John Smiths' married to Mary Anns' I have not got a clue
as to which one was his wife.
Cannot find John Smith's death prior to 1892, which was when Sarah Florence was married.
Its no use me going back on Census returns before 1891,to look for John Smith, as it would be like looking for a needle in
the proverbial haystack, and of course I can't check later census returns as he was dead in 1892,
which explains why Edith Agnes Hunter d/o Edward/Edwin Hunter and Sarah Hunter (nee Smith)
is with her grandparents on the later census returns.
Help :'(
Regards
Gillianr
I will be going off line in half an hour.
Warwickshire Lookup Requests / 1901 and 1911 census look ups
« on: Saturday 04 January 14 15:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hello All,
Have not been here for a while, so Happy New Year to all you hard workers on this site, who have helped me so much in the past:)
Can you now help with this?
Sarah Florence Smith (of all names:(- born c. 1872.
Hopefully I have found her on the 1881 (ref:
Source Citation: Class: RG11; Piece: 3020; Folio: 96; Page: 32;
and 1891 Ref:  Source Citation: Class: RG12; Piece: 2402; Folio: 101; Page: 4
then in the Dec. Qtr of 1892 she married Edwin Joseph Hunter in Birmingham.
(I have sent for the Marriage Certificate).
There is only one slight difference in her husband's name, and that is on the Birth certificate of their daughter Edith Agnes Hunter, and that is (Edwin) is down as (Edward).
I just cannot find Sarah and Edwin on the 1901 or the 1911.
Can you help me please?
Many thanks
