The Common Room / Baptism help HENRY OWEN Welshpool
« on: Sunday 21 September 14 05:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I am researching Henry Owen ( hereditary Burgess of Welshpool 1794 ) born about 1753 in Welshpool. Henry married Mary Parry in 1780 (daughter of Edward Parry of Leighton Hall ) and he died in 1824, buried in St. Marys Parish church Welshpool. I am trying to find a baptism of him as I think his father may have been John Owen (a butcher) and also a Burgess of Welshpool. I have no idea at this stage who his mother was and if he had any siblings. I have posted in Montgomery board and had so much help but was advised to post here as well.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Montgomeryshire / Henry Owen of welshpool help
« on: Wednesday 17 September 14 06:38 BST (UK)  »
Hi to all,

I have been searching the Owen family from Montgomery for a few years now and I have hit brick walls. Henry Owen b. circa 1750 m. Mary Parry (daughter of Edward Parry of Leighton) in Trelystan 1780. They had three children, one Thomas my gggrandfather and he died in 1862. His headstone reads he was late of Garfawr Guilsfield and of Church Hill house. I have been told he is buried in St. Mary's Parish Church Welshpool by a fellow historian.
Mont. collections states Henry was ancestor of Church Bank house and Varchoel
I would like to know if someone can tell me what these are and give me any other help as trying to find who Henry's parents were.

Kind Regards
Helen.

There is some good online help about interpreting medal cards here:
