Warwickshire / Charles Jackson, unable to locate death record.
« on: Thursday 02 July 15 18:19 BST (UK)  »
I really hope someone can help me, I am trying to find when my Great Great Grandfather Charles Jackson died. He was born about 1856 in Curdworth, Warwickshire to Charles and Martha Jackson (nee Morris). According to the census he's a servant, living in Middleton, Warwickshire in 1871. In around 1877 he married Mary A Hunt in Lichfield, Staffordshire. In the 1881 census he was living with his wife and niece Ann Mary (soon to be adopted as their daughter) in a village called Borrowash in the parish of Spondon, Derbyshire. In 1891 he was living in Grendon, Warwickshire with his wife and Nephew Edward Butler. Unfortunately after this he just vanishes, his wife Mary is living in Lea Marston, Warwickshire in 1901 it shows her on the census as being married not widowed. Mary died in 1904 in Lea Marston. His daughter Ann Mary lived in Grendon in 1891 and in Repton, Derbyshire in 1901. Ann married William Tranter in November 1903 and on the marriage certificate it says the Charles is deceased.

I have posted this query before and had no luck, so I figured I'd give it one last try and post it in counties Charles had a connection to. I know he was only my Great Grandmother's adoptive father but he's the only one she had as her birth certificate doesn't show a father's name. I would really appreciate any suggestions.

Warwickshire / Clara Eaves/Taylor(nee Palmer) and her children.
« on: Friday 29 August 14 17:48 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to find out about Clara Palmer she was born 1856 Aston, Warwickshire. She married John Eaves in 1879 in Coleshill and they had two children Rosina Eaves born 1881 in Coleshill, Warwickshire and Gertrude Eaves born and died 1883 in Coleshill, Warwickshire. Her first husband John died in 1883. In 1898 she married William Taylor(born 1849 in Camden, Gloucestershire?). This is where it gets a bit confusing as they apparently had 2 children. The problem is that on the official documents they are shown as John Arthur Eaves (born between 1889 and 1895 in Birmingham) and Samuel James Eaves (born 1892/3, Aston Warwickshire). They clearly aren't John Eaves children as he died before they were born and also they were born before Clara married William Taylor but they are listed as being his sons on the 1901 and 1911 census's.

I would be interested in finding out what happened to the family after 1911 as I have been unable to find out about Clara, William, Rosina and Samuel James after the census.I really would be grateful for any information about them.

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Charles Jackson 1901 census.
« on: Thursday 21 August 14 18:35 BST (UK)  »
I have been trying without much luck to find Charles Jackson on the 1901 census. He was born in 1856, Curdworth Warwickshire. I have been able to find him thanks to help i have previously had on here. What I do know is that in 1881 he is living in Spondon, Derbyshire, England with his wife Mary A Jackson and in 1891 he's again with his wife this time in Grendon, Warwickshire, England. By 1901 he seems to have vanished. His wife Mary is in 1901 living in Lea Marston, Warwickshire and although she is listed as Head of household but not as a widow, I do know that by the time his daughter married in November 1903 he had died. Could this mean he was in hospital or elsewhere? If anyone could help me I'd be really grateful.

Warwickshire / Alice Brown and Mary Jane Brown
« on: Sunday 10 August 14 12:35 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for information on Alice Brown born about 1867 Birmingham, Warwickshire and her sister Mary Ann Brown born July 1868 Birmingham, Warwickshire. Their parents were Thomas Brown born about 1837 Birmingham, Warwickshire and Jane Elizabeth Brown(nee Tranter) born July 1844 Birmingham, Warwickshire. They were married 23rd July 1867 at St Peter and St Paul, Aston. He was living in Saltley and she was living in Aston village at the time of their wedding, the witnesses to the wedding were Jane's brother and sister. I have found the family on the 1871 census living at Cheapside, Deritend, Aston and Thomas's occupation was Iron beds maker. Jane Elizabeth Brown died in 1878 aged 33 and was buried on 26th April at St Peter and St Paul, Aston on the burial record it says at the time they were living at Mount Street Nechells. I've been unable to locate them on the 1881 or any of the following census's. If anyone can find anything or has any inofrmation about them I'd be really grateful.

Down / Bolton and Bowman from Kilmood, Ballygowan/ Newtownards.
« on: Saturday 02 August 14 15:17 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for information on the Bolton's and Bowman's (sometimes listed as Booman) from Kilmood.

I have so far discovered that James Bolton born probably in the 1830's in the Kilmood area married Mary Ann Bowman(born 1849, Kilmood, Down) in 1872.  I know they had children one of whom William married a Mary Ann Rainey (born about 1875). I'd really love to know anything about the parents and siblings of James Bolton or either of the Mary Ann's. If anyone knows anything or has any suggestions I'd really appreciate any information they can supply.

Staffordshire / Charles Jackson, Whttington Staffordshire.
« on: Thursday 31 July 14 20:30 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for information on Charles Jackson and his wife, whose name I unfortunately I don't know. All I know about them is that in the late 1870's they were living in or around Whittington in Staffordshire and were possibly from that area. My interest in them is that in about 1879 Mrs Jackson found a baby abandoned on the steps of Whittington Methodist Church and took her in. My Great Grandmother Ann Mary (Annie) Tranter (nee Jackson) was the baby they raised and I'd really like to find out anything I can about them. One more thing that I do know is that by the time Ann Mary married in November 1903 is that Charles Jackson was deceased. We are aware that her Mother disapproved of the marriage because the Tranter family ran a public house and her Mother was a member of a Temperence society. If anyone can help despite there being so little information or if someone has a connection to this Jackson family I'd appreciate any information they could give.
