London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Godsell and Harrington
« on: Saturday 24 October 15 02:21 BST (UK)  »
Looking for descendants of Patricia (Pat) Godsell,(Born June 1923) a nurse, from Golden in Tipperary who married John Harrington around 1946, possibly in Lambeth Surrey. They divorced later and they lived at some stage in Middlesex. They had at least two sons and one daughter (Ann??).

Patricia had two sisters, Betty who was also a nurse in London for a number of years, and Naomi who remained in Ireland. One of Patricia's sons visited Betty in Maynooth Co Kildare in the 1980s.

Any help appreciated

Sussex / Emily Mills married James Kearns
« on: Sunday 15 February 15 12:02 GMT (UK)  »
Emily Mills from Playden Rye (?) In Sussex married James Kearns, an Irish soldier in Portsmouth Cathedral in 1894. They lived for a while in Ireland but moved to Iden in 1909. Sadly he died within 3 months of moving there aged just 36.  Are there any descendants of the Mills family still living there? James was awarded two medals for service in the Boer War.

Could anyone please help clear up this faded photo of my Granduncle John Moore.  He was one of the many underage soldiers in World War One.    It is the only photo we have of him in uniform.

Thank you

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / My gran, Mary Corcoran
« on: Sunday 09 February 14 13:21 GMT (UK)  »
This is a huge challenge.   This is my grandmother taken in June 1940.  The original I have is less than one by one inch, so its enlarged form looks pretty damaged.   I would be hugely grateful if anyone could take on the challenge.   Any effort will be gratefully received.
My gran was an amazing woman.  She raised eight children of her own, and three of her brothers when her sister-in-law died in childbirth.  She was an amazing dressmaker, although she went blind not too long after this photo was taken.  She was still able to sew, and could produce amazing clothes for her children.  I would love to see this restored.

Can anyone please help to clean up this photo of my dad and his younger brother.   This is a beautiful smiley one of my dad.  He would be 100 next birthday if he was alive.  I would love to surprise my family on his birthday, with a cleaned up version.

United States of America / Mara- Kearns Philadelphia
« on: Sunday 06 October 13 09:37 BST (UK)  »
Looking for descendants of Dennis Mara from Wicklow in Ireland and Annie Kearns from Carlow in Ireland who moved to Philadelphia in the 1920s.  They had 1 daughter Mary Elizabeth who became a nun, and 4 sons, including Sean, Jim and I think Dennis.  We lost touch when Annie died in the early 1960s.   Annie also had a brother Jim who married Dennis sister Mary, and they lived close to them in Philadelphia.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / A big challenge
« on: Tuesday 13 August 13 23:29 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,
This photo has surfaced of a group of workmen at our local college in the 1930s.  Two of my uncles are in it, two neighbours and a really good friend of my dads.     I would really appreciate any efforts anyone could make to tidy it up in any way.
I know its a huge challenge, but thanks in advance to anyone who takes it on.
regards

Sussex / George and Catherine Mills, Iden, Playden

George and Catherine Mills,  Iden, Playden
Is anyone researching this couple who are enumerated in the 1911 census at Seaview, Iden, Playden?.

They were listed with their daughter Emily Kearns  (widow) aged 36, daughter-in-law  Lucy Eleanor Mills, (widow) aged 42, and niece Lilian Mills from Rolvendon, Kent,   age 26.

I know this couple had 11 children,   8 of whom survived, so there may be someone out there researching this line.
Any help appreciated
