Europe / Recommendations for paid Polish/German research
« on: Friday 18 January 13 21:42 GMT (UK)  »
My Polish grandmother would love me to her family tree but I have so little to go on and she is now in her mid 90's I cant help thinking that paying for a researcher would be a better idea than slogging alone with little success.
Can anyone recommend a paid researcher who does polish catholic research?

Ireland / Looking for a marriage and birth - no idea where in Ireland though
« on: Saturday 11 February 12 17:31 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for a marriage of my 4x great grandparents - Angus McLeod (born in Edinburgh) and Jane Gold (born in Ireland) - both born around 1790ish and married before 1815.
I am also looking for the birth of their son Robert Gold McLeod - possibly around 1815.

The reason I have so much bother with these people are that Angus was an army man (Blackwatch) so they could have been anywhere when they married and anywhere when Robert was born. Family folklore even suggests that Robert was born at Waterloo.

Any help or pointers very greatfully received.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Look up please
« on: Saturday 31 December 11 16:21 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for a William Kindred or Kendred Allan born around 1811. The whole family seem to have come from the Marylebone area and stayed there until present day.
As well as his birth, I am also looking for his marriage to a Lydia Ann Hutchins - they married 1829 possibly at St James Church in Paddington (the Hutchins family come from that area)

I am keen to trace this Allen line back - Kindred or Kendred is a really common middle name in the family so I am assuming at one point an Allen will marry a Kindred.

Family History Programs, Tree Organisation, Presentation / FTM 2012
« on: Saturday 31 December 11 00:28 GMT (UK)  »
I have having problems generating a tree that only shows two lines of my family.

If I select extended family tree it shows all lines and if I make descendent trees I will have to make two (one for each line) rather than being able to merge (unless someone knows something I dont)

If I select an ancester tree it only gives me the direct line up and doesnt give all the sibilings and their families.

Can anyone help?

The lines I am trying to deal with are my paternal great grandparents - female and male line. Although it is my tree it is for my grandmother's cousin (who is very elderly) and I think that two trees would be confusing to follow.

London and Middlesex / Royal West London Theatre/ Scala theatre
« on: Friday 30 December 11 16:43 GMT (UK)  »
I have just found out that some of my relatives performed in the Royal West London Theatre - does anyone have links to this theatre or is researching this theatre.
My family were called Allen and there was 2 or 3 generations of them involved on and off the stage.

Cork / Ager/Agers
« on: Monday 26 December 11 23:20 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for my gx4 grandmother Elizabeth Ager or Agers (1824) - she had a father called Edward and was from County Cork and married in Liverpool in 1847 to a Robert Gold McLeod.

I havent yet found any Ager or Agers families in the Liverpool area so I am assuming that she may be one of the first to come to Liverpool (timing would be about right for the potato famine if my history serves me well).

Any information or tips and hints greatly appreciated.

« on: Friday 09 December 11 23:04 GMT (UK)  »
Anyone got any ideas where you would get chelsea pensioner details from?
I am researching a Blackwatch soldier (4th great grandfather) who I know was pensioned off as a Chelsea Pensioner.

Any tips or advice greatfully received.
