Yorkshire (North Riding) / Ida Jones Marriage(s)
« on: Sunday 25 June 23 10:04 BST (UK)  »
I wonder if someone could help with a family relative’s marriage record as I can’t seem to find anything at all.
Ida Jones was born in North Ormesby, Middlesbrough, on 31.10.1912.
She died on 17.12.1997 in Billingham, she was married to Harry Warner.
MMN was Cooper (Mary Rebecca), she had a brother (older I think) Joseph, and a younger sister Rosetta, Half brother Thomas Bird, her father died when she was little and mother re married (Bird)
I only knew her being married to Harry and as far as I know she never had any children, It was mentioned many years ago (although I was a little lad) that there may have been a physical problem as to why she had no family.
I am clumsily piecing together details/dates of the family history, I ordered a copy of her will – mainly because I couldn’t find a definitive date of death etc. I could be way off here but part of the will mentions “raising a share in (the) trust fund of any child or grandchild of mine”
I am interested to see if she had previously married anyone before Harry Warner, and when/ where they (if any) her and also Harry Warner were married.

Many Thanks

Unfortunately I don’t have any photographs of him or his family.
A lot of the above information was given by other rootschat members.

World War One / Walter Kenneth Cooper
« on: Saturday 06 August 22 12:56 BST (UK)  »
Good afternoon, I am trying to find information on what I believe is a relative. Walter Kenneth Cooper 58391 2/4 Btn York & Lancaster.
He lived in south bank Middlesbrough, I found this http://www.ww1-yorkshires.org.uk/html-files/awoingt-british-cemetery.htm
The family are here https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X7PG-DDW
I cannot verify his age from what I have found so far or indeed whether it is the same family member as on the family search link.
I’m not particularly good at genealogy and would very much appreciate any information/help on this man.

Durham Lookup Requests / Infant Burial Question/Request
« on: Sunday 27 June 21 11:24 BST (UK)  »
I have found out an ancestor had a child that looks like they died fairy soon after being born (no one knew of this) there is a birth and death on familysearch within the same quarter.
The name is Doris Inskip, she was born in 1928 in South Shields, if there was a burial it seems likely it would be in Harton cemetary, I can’t find anything regarding a burial.
Would someone be kind enough to give me some guidance or possibly details of a grave?

World War One / Ralph Inskip
« on: Sunday 14 March 21 10:12 GMT (UK)  »
Morning all, I am researching Ralph Inskip – Ralph Cruickshanks/Crookshanks Inskip, I think they are the same man, there seems to be a conflict of info on here. https://www.cwgc.org/search-results/?Term=Ralph+Inskip+ as far as I know Mary Crawford was his wife.

Ralph lived in South Shields, as far as I can tell his WW1 service was in the Royal Army Medical Corps, he died 21 November 1916.(see above link)
I would be grateful for any more information as to his service/death or any other information on him at all.
Many Thanks.

Northumberland / Elizabeth Abbott 1875, Newcastle
« on: Sunday 07 February 21 11:03 GMT (UK)  »
Would someone be able to help/advise please, going back a few generations I am fairy sure I have the correct person
Elizabeth Abbott (various surname spellings)
Born 1875, Newcastle – I think around walker/jesmond
Father Thomas – a miner, mother Harriet
Her siblings – approximate years of birth (and names of her children)
Laura 1886
Jane 1889
Margaret 1890
Hannah 1894 (I think)
I am using Familysearch, My problem is the ten year gap between her and Laura, I can’t find them on the 1881 census, It’s probably me as I’m not very good at this. Any help advice appreciated.

Durham Lookup Requests / Absent voters lookup for William Campbell
« on: Monday 19 October 20 08:53 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I am trying to find out for a very elderly relative if William Campbell (his grandfather) had any military service, I did post the details he gave me in the WW1 forum a while ago with no luck, seeing as they are so good over there I’m assuming a lot/most of it is incorrect.
Info I was given he is fairly sure of
William Campbell
Born in Sunderland 3/9/1881
Died in Sunderland 10/6/1961
Had an older brother – Owen and a younger sister Mary, from what I have found they lived in Spelter Works Road.
Info he was told (not so sure of) when he died
A gunner in the royal artillery – was disabled from the army between 1914 – 1916?  apparently he was on a ship which was blown up? And was one of only a few survivors?
Would the absent voters list give me any information? I have found nothing military for this man  and seeing as he would have been around  33 in 1916 would that exclude him from the forces? Could he have been in another home force?
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated before I give up on this.

World War One / Uniform I D please
« on: Friday 08 May 20 08:02 BST (UK)  »
I was loaned a small photo (shown) of a family member from WW1 in uniform with his sister, from what I’ve found I believe he was in the Royal Naval Division and I’m trying to verify as far as possible it’s him. Could someone give their assessment on whether the uniform could be the Royal Naval Division please?
