Lanarkshire / looking for Bryce
« on: Sunday 30 July 06 15:19 BST (UK)  »
Looking for help with an Alexander Bryce c1815 married to Elizabeth Bryce ( same surname) c1820 Carnwath, according to the IGI,- they married 23/12/1836 Covington, but can't find anything on SP
I think Alexander has something to do with gardening
they were still living in 1862 when their daughter Barbara Todd Bryce married John Thomson

Lanarkshire / vanishing George
« on: Saturday 29 July 06 12:28 BST (UK)  »
I am having trouble trying to find out what happened to George Williamson, I cannot find any marriage or death cert. for him, he just seems to have vanished.  - here is what I have -

(1861 Calton, Glasgow census)
George Williamson (cotton Weaver) born between abt 1831 Married Jane Peel (winder) born abt1831 (they had 2 sons George 1859 and William 1861)

Jane married Daniel Mclaren in Bridgeton 1870, stating she was a widow, so George must have died after Williams was born 1861 and before Jane marrying again 1870, I  think baby William may have died 1861, but it is a John Williamson as informant, possibly Geo. brother, so George may be dead then
Jane is on the 1841 (age 10) & 1851 (age18) Calton census with her parent - Isaac and Constance and she has a sister who married a John Williamson, possibly Geo. brother!!

Jane died Dennistoun1904 age 62, which makes her birth year 1942, but this does not tie into the census ( I have her death cert, which states she was married to Geo, and Daniel, so looks like the correct Jane)
does all this make sense? and can anyone help?
Thanks
