Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1871 Census-Liverpool
« on: Friday 08 July 05 21:19 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Could some kind person look up details for 1871 census at (I think) 8 Denison St., Liverpool.  I believe the head of household should be Alexander PITBLADE born 1822 at Whitehaven, Cumberland.  Also there would be Margaret (wife) born 1821, Whitehaven and son John born 1850 (Liverpool).  They had several boarders and Johanna BEFF (sister in law).  I would like the reference number and details of the household if possible please.  PITBLADE had been transcribed as PITBLADIC in Ancestry.uk

Thank you

Could someone check this reference for details please in 1901 Census.

RG13/984/54/18.  It should be an Elizabeth NANCE, born Padstow, Cornwall and Arthur NANCE, born Portsmouth, but I would appreciate any more details including other occupants please.

Thank You

Hi,
I had such a good response about the Nance family I wondered if someone could look up  the 1851 Census in the Poplar area for Erastus Richard NANCE and his family who I think were living there at this time.

Erastus was born October 1820 at Padstow, Cornwall but married Eliza Frances ABCHURCH 17 August 1847 in Poplar, London - some of the children were baptised at All Saint's, Poplar according to the family Bible so I'm hoping they would live near there??  They were at 55 Grundy St., in 1861 (from my Mum's cousin, but I don't have references for this).

I am still interested in any other information  with a NANCE connection as they seemed to split into several directions ie BMD's from church records should anyone come accross them.

Thank you

Glamorganshire Completed Lookups / 1861/1871 Census-Nance in Cardiff area
« on: Monday 27 December 04 22:24 GMT (UK)  »
I have recently found a family which in 1881 census (on-line)appears to be living at 9 Kymin Terr., Penarth, Glamorgan Ref: RG 11/5289/16/28 by the name of JAMES.  I think it should read NANCE and would be greatful if someone could check it with the original data for me.  William E JAMES/NANCE was 43 yrs. and a coal merchant born Padstow, Cornwall.

If possible could the 1861/1871 census be checked to see if they were still there then.

There are 3 other NANCE families which are in Wales in 1881 census I would liked to see if they were at the same address in 1861/1871.

Emily and family were living at 16 Longcross St., Roath, Glamorgan. (Husband was a mariner).
Horatio and Emma were at Cowbridge Rd., Sydney Villa, Cardiff St John.
Henry was at 14 Stacey Rd., Roath., Glamorgan in 1881 and was a widower by 1881.  This might be the more likely location as the others had children under 10 yrs. old.

The family appears to have moved a couple of times between Cornwall and Wales and it would be nice to find where they were in 1861/1871.

Any information on the family would be appreciated.

Thank you.
