My great-great-great grandmother Margaret Jobson nee Atkinson is described in entries in the Ellingham parish registers for her marriage in 1801, and her children’s baptisms, as being a native of Shank Hall in the parish of Bamburgh, Northumberland. On the 1895 OS map I found Shankhall Plantation, north of, and midway between, Chathill and Tughall in Northumberland. I haven't been able to find any reference to a village or manor house called Shank Hall. I welcome any help confirming the history of Shank Hall and its inhabitants.
