Lancashire / The mysterious Thomas Molyneux (Ince, Hindley, Wigan)
« on: Saturday 12 March 22 12:13 GMT (UK)  »
Hello!

A bit of a long shot, but I'm looking for help tracing my great grandfather, Thomas Molyneux. On the 1939 Register, I have him living at 29 York Street, Ince as a boarder with an elderly (and unrelated) widow. He's working as a coal bagger and I have his date of birth as 03 Dec 1918. I then have him marrying my great grandmother, Irene Barnes, at St Peter, Hindley in 1941, having three children, etc and eventually dying in Ince in 1961.

What I can't trace is his life before he pops up in Ince in 1939. There is no Thomas Molyneux born in Q4 1918 in England or Scotland. On his marriage record, he says his father is Henry Molyneux but I can't trace him either.

I'm a bit stuck - any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Dumfriesshire / Edgars of Glenhowan
« on: Saturday 12 March 22 11:27 GMT (UK)  »
Hello! My great great grandfather, John Edgar, was one of the Glenhowan Edgars but he left for the bright lights of Salford with my great great grandmother, Elizabeth Wallace Milroy. She was the family's domestic servant (I like to imagine a forbidden romance and them running off to be together!). Is there anyone else with a connection to the Edgars of Glenhowan? It seems to be quite the sprawling clan and I'm struggling to keep all the family connections straight!

Stirlingshire / The Mystery of Matthew/Martha Kerr (Slamannan)
« on: Saturday 12 March 22 11:21 GMT (UK)  »
Hello! My great great grandparents, John Kerr and Martha McCann Young were born in Ireland but lived (and died) in Slamannan. I'm descended from the lot that moved down to Lancashire at some point in the 1930s but I'd love to know if anyone out there has any connections to this family. Looks like it was quite an extended clan!
