Kent / Parish Records
« on: Saturday 09 September 06 13:50 BST (UK)  »
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if copies of parish records are available for marriages  from St. Lawrence's Ramsgate and churches in Tenterden? I am trying to locate more details for Isaac Catt born in Tenterden (according to 1851 census) c 1788. He married Ann Goldsmith in Ramsgate in 1809. I was hoping that the marriage details in the parish record might show who his father was and maybe more evidence of where he came from. So far I have been unable to locate him prior to his marriage. Any suggestions would be appreciated.  many thanks.  regards Diane

hello, I am wondering if anyone may be able to point me in the right direction to find out a bit more about James Tracey born Aughrim Co Roscommon c. 1820 and his wife Mary MdDonald (or any derivation) born possibly Rooskey or Rosecray depending which census you look at. They emmigrated to England some time before 1851 when they are first recorded on the English census. Have not been able to get any further back owing to sketchy details. They had children james born c1853 supposedly in Dover but we have been unable to find any record of his birth. Two younger girls also listed as born in England. James remarried  a Josephine Mills in1874 when his father is listed as John Tracey, labourer. Any suggetions for pointers would be appreciated. REgards Diane

« on: Saturday 20 May 06 16:10 BST (UK)  »
hello, I am wondering if anyone may be able to help with finding David Baskett/Basket. On various census he is listed as a gardener born  on the Isle of White c 1816.  His wife was Sarah down as 5 years older on 1841 census and their children were 3, 2 and 10mnths and they were living in Fareham in Hampshire. I am assuming from this that they were probably married some time around 1837. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Diane
