I know it's David Arnot, tobacco pipe maker can't make out the age or the first part of the town in Ireland where he comes from, Could anyone make an educated guess based on what can be made out?
been suggested where I've mention it on the Scotland sub fourm County Down?

Ireland / Myles/Miles/Meiles forename
« on: Wednesday 24 August 22 23:15 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

Looking for information on a Myles/Miles/Meiles Glancy or Glancey born in Ireland (county not known) around 1813

I can find him liing in Glasgow for years but then he vanishes and only record I can find that by 1886 he's dead according to a statuary record of one of his children.

So what is the correct spelling for it in Ireland and is it a common name?

I'm wondering if for some reason he's possibly died elsewhere possily back in Ireland.

Lanarkshire / procurator fiscal graves Sandymount cemetry
« on: Sunday 24 July 22 18:31 BST (UK)  »
Here's a strange one for you I was looking for family buried in Sandymount cemtery using the cemetry  records, Now when searching through them I found a plot purchased by the procurator fiscal and 2 men buried in it in the 1950's being curious I put the names through Scotland's people and didn't find the names.

Don't think they were hung in Bar L either, Sadly I never saved the record although it's from the 1950's anyone seen something similar?

Lanarkshire / Brick Wall Thomas Doyle 1892 Clyde St, Glasgow
« on: Saturday 23 July 22 19:22 BST (UK)  »
 Hi all,
First post on here, Been doing my family tree and have found my great grandfather was born illegitimate to his mother Susan McAllister of 4 Mckechnie St (Now Dornoch St) On court papers for child maintenance his father is named as a Thomas Doyle who's occupation is listed as a holeborer and residing at 50 Clyde St I'm assuming it's now Abercromby St which was round the corner from 4 Mckechnie St/Dornoch St)

Other than the court document I've nothing else to go on and looking at Scotlands People/Ancestry census records etc I can't find any other information that I can say that's the person I'm looking for any idea's pointers to locate him I can't find holeborer listed under any Victorian jobs so I'm assuming it either involved tunneling in mines/Glasgow underground or drilling metals etc
