England / Online newspaper subscription favour
« on: Sunday 02 June 24 02:47 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone

CONUNDRUM HAS BEEN RESOLVED BY KIND ASSISTANCE OF  Comberton

If anyone is feeling charitable and has online access to either the Worthing Herald or the Belfast News Letter for the year 1938, I was hoping for a check for an engagement notice for Richard L.D. Herbert, I was hoping for the details of his fiance.

The Worthing Herald issue is 27th May 1938 page 16

The Belfast News Letter issue is 18th June 1938 page 7

If anyone is able to oblige, I'll remain forever in your debt ;D

Bestest regards
Stuart McDonald, Western Australia

United States of America / Boyker marriage, but where?
« on: Wednesday 08 May 24 03:51 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone,
Julia Helen Jenkinson died in Palm Beach, Florida 14th April 1980 (born 1911 Paddington, London, England).  She married Edgar Townsley Jenkinson in 1977 as Julia Boyker, nee Dallimore.  I am trying to determine who the Boyker was.
Julia had migrated to the US, likely in the 1950s, possibly via Australia.  So, she married a Boyker in the US between circa 1951 and 1977, but where I have no idea.
Her maiden name was Dallimore, but by the time of her US migration she had married at least three times, so she may have travelled and/or married as either Julia Dallimore, Julia Hyman, Julia Gamble or Julia Jones.
Can anyone offer suggestions, as I have no idea where in the US she was prior to her 1977 Florida marriage.
Would be grateful of any pointers.
Best regards

Australia / Mother & Son (Eastern Australia)....
« on: Saturday 06 April 24 03:10 BST (UK)  »
Hi Everyone

Can anyone offer some suggestions ;D

Ruth Irvine Baldwin, was born 13 July 1908 at Carlton, Vic to Henry Percy Baldwin & Euphemia, nee Irvine.  She married twice, as Ivy Ruth Irvine Baldwin in 1931 to Arthur Alfred Frith and as Ruth Irvine Baldwin in 1943 to Francis Edward McRae, both marriages in Victoria.  I cannot locate her on Electoral Rolls after 1937 as Ruth Irvine Frith.  All other subjects with christian names of "Ruth Irvine" on accessible Australian Electoral Rolls have been discounted as the Ruth Baldwin I am tracking.  Ancestry trees "suggest" she died in 1977, but this is likely to be speculation.  I have tried locating a death record in Australia without success.  As I cannot locate a Ruth Irvine McRae on records (as suggested by her 1943 marriage record) at all, I am wondering if the marriage failed early and she assumed a new identity.
She had a son Roland Kevin Newport (born 1928), variously known as Frith and Griffin.  He is believed to have died circa 1990, the only record located on Electoral Rolls was in NSW in 1968, his chequered marital career is well  documented on Trove.  Again, like his mother, I am keen to determine possible dates & places of decease.
And before I outstay any welcome by asking way too much, Ruth's aunt Margaret Irvine (1880-1963) married Edward John Hammond in WA in 1901.  Edward seems to disappear after 1916 when he was about 30 years of age.  Margaret never remarried and died in Melbourne, they last appear together on an Electoral Roll in 1910.  Any suggestions for Edward John Hammond?
Thank you all so much for reading.

Australia / Whatever happened to Albert Charles Truslove
« on: Thursday 14 March 24 07:36 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am trying to trace Albert Charles Truslove who was born at Midland Junction, Western Australia in 1918.  He was a son of Charles Leslie Truslove and Gertrude Ellen Canlon/Scanlon.  His parents separated and died in 1957 (WA) and 1959 (VIC) respectively.  Known as Bert, he married Winifred Flanagan in WA in 1942 and seems to disappear from records and newspapers around 1946.  He was a serving police officer and an amateur boxer.  I can last locate him on an electoral roll in 1943 living with his wife in WA.  His wife is locatable on rolls without Bert up until the mid 1960s when she either remarried or changed her name, she passed away in 1992 in Victoria.
But what happened to Bert?  Can anyone offer suggestions where else to search?  I've looked at the obvious online resources.
Many thanks

London and Middlesex / Middlesex burial
« on: Friday 23 February 24 06:01 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Can anyone suggest how you could determine where someone might be buried or cremated in Middlesex?
John Cyril Crofton Sadleir died at the West London Hospital, Hammersmith on 6th October 1926.  He was an Australian visiting London at the time.  I am hoping determine which cemetery he might be buried with a hopeful plot/location number.  Or if he was cremated, where his ashes might have been dispersed.
A lot to ask, but I'm hoping to strike it lucky ;D ;D
Many thanks

London and Middlesex / William Noyce
« on: Saturday 10 February 24 02:53 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
Can anyone provide any pointers.
William Noyce was born in the December quarter of 1906 within the registration district of Hampstead. The GRO index doesn't provide a maiden name for the registration, might this indicate he was illegitimate?  I can't locate him on the 1911 Census but I can on the 1921 Census where he appears as the only resident in Hendon, but since I don't have access to the full record, I might be wrong.  He migrated to Western Australia in 1927 and died there in 1955, his death certificate gives no parentage.
Can anyone assist, I would be very appreciative.

Australia / South Australian birth certificates.
« on: Tuesday 05 December 23 23:15 GMT (UK)  »
Hello everyone
Is anyone aware if a child is stillborn, the fact is noted on a South Australian birth certificate?  I have a birth in South Australia (Belalie) in 1874 but no one can trace a death record for the child or a marriage.  I understand that deaths might not always be recorded, especially for the location cited.  I don't want to apply for the birth certificate if it doesn't answer my conundrum?
Many thanks for any insights.

London and Middlesex / Coronial inquest/newspaper reports.
« on: Thursday 16 November 23 02:47 GMT (UK)  »
Hello there
Does anyone have access to Coronial Inquest data or associated newspaper reports for the Greater London area covering the 1970s.
Christopher Francis Lewin-Mannering died within the June Quarter of 1974 aged 33/34 with the Paddington registration district.  I'm not having a lot of luck determining an actual date and place of decease, but it believed the death was not of natural causes.
Is anyone able to assist?  I would be appreciative of any assistance.
Best regards
