Son of Horace and Beatrice Household, he was born on 5th January 1906 in Cheltenham. He worked briefly for the London & North Eastern Railway before training as a teacher. He joined the other resident staff at 50 Shorncliffe Road. Literature was obviously a family trait, his brother Geoffrey was the famous thriller writer. His first teaching post was at Swanage in Dorset from 1930 1937, followed by Senior Master at Clayesmore Preparatory School in Dorset from 1937 1945, Wycliffe Junior School 1945 1948, Westbrook House 1948 1968 and finally on 11th January 1968 he resigned his position at WH because of the politics of the take-over and followed Ted Foster up to Ardvreck. He was at Ardvreck until his retirement in 1973. He lived at 44 Earls Avenue, Folkestone, Kent. He died in 1996.
But where did he die and where is he buried.
