London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / 1841 Deaton Family
« on: Monday 14 January 08 04:55 GMT (UK)  »
I would very much appreciate a look up of the 1841 census at Bethnal Green for the Deaton family.  I am interested in a Joseph Deaton, who states in his will that he is Joseph Deaton the younger, and his brother is a James.  The name varies in spelling, i.e. Deighton.

Joseph would have been born around 1832.

Thank you for your time.

Suffolk / The Elusive "Jim MULLEY"
« on: Tuesday 20 November 07 01:45 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Everyone,

You may recall that I was looking for the parents of a Jim Mulley supposedly born in 1880, well I have just obtained a copy of his marriage certificate and he was actually born in 1889.  If Mike is still a lookup volunteer he did find him living at Yaxley with his parents John Mulley, Elizabeth Weavers and siblings, Kate, George and Mary, but I couldn't confirm the family line.  Thank you very much Mike.

But now I would appreciate it if someone can do a lookup on John Mulley born 1852 at Finningham, Suffolk.  I know he was living in Palgrave around 1871, that is where Elizabeth Weavers resided, but I would like to find out who his parents were.

I have done much research on the Mulleys but have absolutely nothing on the Hartismere crowd.  If it helps, John was a Platelayer on the GE Railway.  I have him in the 1881 census, an older lady, Fanny Mulley is living with them, but she recorded as a boarder, not a Mother or Grandmother.

Grateful Peachface ;D

« on: Friday 02 November 07 01:21 GMT (UK)  »
Please can someone look up the 1851 and 1861 census records for Mellis, for a Charles Bridges, born 1842.

I did find a Louis Bridges living in Mellis in the 1881 census, but could find absolutely nothing else on the family.

Thanking you in advance for your time.

Hi,

I would be very grateful for a look up of the 1871 cencus in Bury St Edmunds of Sarah A Gayfer born around 1855 at Yaxley.

I would like to know her age in this census, so can see if this is the right Sarah, her occupation and who she was working for.

Thank you very much in advance for your time and effort.

Essex Completed Lookup Requests / Challis Witham Please
« on: Tuesday 21 August 07 03:54 BST (UK)  »
I would very much appreciate help with my Challis family from Witham.

James Challis born 1804 and his wife Elizabeth Saward born 1805 were living at Church Street, Chipping Hill, Witham in the 1841 census with their children, Elizabeth born 1830, James born 1832, Sophia born 1834, Joshua born 1838 and David born 1839.

Sadly Elizabeth Snr. died in 1842 and James Snr. died in 1844.

I found Elizabeth Jnr. in service in St Pancras, London in 1851 and Sophia in service in Chelmsford in 1851.

I then find David Challis living with his married sister Sophia Dupree and her family in Bromley, London in the 1871 census along with his cousin Mary Ann Challis maybe born 1846 but this census is out with David's age.

Can you please do a look up for the 1851 and 1861 census for Witham for David Challis, James Jnr., Joshua and Mary Ann the cousin.  I don't think that she is the Mary Ann born 1838 daughter of William Challis and Hannah Pewter and who married William Gilson.  If I can find out more about this Mary Ann, I may be able to confirm James Snr.'s parents.

Hope the above is understandable!

Thanking you very much for your time in advance.

Suffolk Completed Lookup Requests / Thornham Parva - GAYFER
« on: Tuesday 08 May 07 06:02 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I would very much appreciate a look up of the Parish Records for Thornham Parva.

I am looking for a John Gayfer born around 1781 at Thornham Parva.  He may have married a Charlotte Gayfer in 1808, daughter of a Thomas and Susannah Gayfer, maybe cousins?

I would like to trace his parents and siblings if at all possible.

Thanking you in advance for your time.

« on: Tuesday 24 April 07 05:36 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Can anyone help me please with parish records of Willisham.  I realize that most were destroyed in a fire in 1800, but someone has suggested to me that there may be a few left around?

Where do I start looking?

Suffolk Completed Lookup Requests / Census - Caroline RUDDOCK
« on: Tuesday 03 April 07 05:15 BST (UK)  »
I very much appreciated the help given me re. John Ruddock and Eleanor Hubbard yesterday.

But I am now left with a Caroline Ruddock born Mellis June quarter 1861, who is not John and Eleanor's daughter as I thought.  Which family did she belong to, Thomas or Charles.

So please can someone look up the 1871 census for Caroline, Mellis.

Thank you in advance for your time.
