Lancashire Lookup Requests / Looking for the location of Holgate Street, Manchester.

Hello. I have been through my collection of Godfrey's Manchester maps in an attempt to locate Holgate Street, Central Manchester, without success. In Slater's 1911 Directory the Street is mentioned in the index as being adjacent to Corporation Street, but not included in the directory itself. There is a Back Holgate Street on my 1930s map, but this is some distance from Corporation Street. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have spent quite a bit of time on this, but can only be sure that it was off Hankinson Street, off Broad Street, Salford. However, it is not shown on any map that I have, and is not mentioned in Slater's 1911 directorya, and had possibly been renamed or demolished by then. It is shown here on this 1861 census extract. Any help appreciated.

I am trying to locate Capon Street, Gorton, but in spite of having gone through old street directories and a fairly extensive map collection, I can't find it. Any ideas, please?

Lancashire / Subscription advice please

I am contemplating taking our a subscription with UK Census Online. Has anyone here had experience of their service? My main  concern is the ability to unsubscribe, as this has been an issue in the past with other genealogy services I have dealt with. They don't make it particularly easy.

George Arthur Roylance, born 1908
Fanny Edwards b. 13th July, 1913
These are both possibly Manchester events, but I can't be sure.

Family History Programs, Tree Organisation, Presentation / How do I install 1881 census on my hard disk?

I have the LDS 1881 census records on my PC, but have to continually swap CDs when using it. I know it is possible to run the program directly from the hard drive, but need up-to-date instructions on how to accomplish this. I am running Windows 7 professional.
I believe Family History magazine published an article on this some time ago. Anyone know which issue?
Any help appreciated.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Looking for William Artus b. Halifax

I am trying to locate the birth of William Artus, probably sometime between 1900 and 1915 in Halifax. The only other  information I have is that he later had a son, Anthony Jacob, who married a Sylvia M. Fail. For some reason, information about the family's history seems very sparse.
Any help appreciated.

Gloucestershire / Hannah Gabb and William Artus

I have managed to trace my Gloucestershire ancestry back as far as 1635, but have been unable to locate any information on the marriage of my ggg grandfather, William Artus of Minsterworth, and Hannah Gabb of Longney. The date would have been about 1822/23, as their first son was born in Eastington in 1824.
I really have searched hard on this one, but it is only recently that I have had concrete proof of Hannah's surname.
Any help appreciated.
