Armagh / Patrick Woods Publican Keady
« on: Saturday 08 February 20 10:04 GMT (UK)  »
I have found d out my G G Grandfather Patrick Woods ran a pub / grocer at 12 Barrack Street Keady
I cannot find Barrack Street anywhere   I have searched in old free Directories but its lists his name and the address .

I would love to find ot the name of this pub and where in Keady it would have been.

Both he and his wife.died very young and it took nearly 10 years  for my  g grandfather to inherit despite being of full age.   It sounds like there was a dispute

Dublin / Dublin Roads Miising from Online 1911 Census
« on: Friday 08 June 12 16:19 BST (UK)  »
I believe that there is a microfiche roll missing from the 1911 census. My Great Grandparents lived in Lower Dorset st and I have a copy of the Census return from Microfiche. They are missing from the online version

In looking I noticed a lot of streets around this area are also missing which makes me think the roll is missing.

I don't live near Dublin to get the roll number

I notified the National archives numerous times via the feedback tool.
But nothing

I would hate to think that people are missing and forgotten about.

Is there anything I can do ??

Dublin / 4 North Brunswick St = Richmond Hospital ??
« on: Wednesday 12 September 07 08:34 BST (UK)  »
Hopefully someone can help me.

I have recently got a copy of my great grandfathers death certificate.  He died in June 1916 of TB at 4 North Brunswick St.  The death cert also says he lived in Upr Dorset St at the time.  The other strange this is the informant of the death  is an "inmate".

Would this be the Richmond Hospital ?
Was it a fever hospital ?
Why would the informant be an "inmate" and not a doctor ?

Does any body have any ideas ??

Kind Regards
BeeMack

Armagh / Where to begin ????
« on: Saturday 25 August 07 22:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi Everybody,

I am new to researching my family in Co. Armagh  I do not have a clue where to start with very little nformation !!!!

All I know if that my Great Grandfather James Woods was born in Bessbrook, Co Armagh abt 1864/5.

He married Catherine Rice from Downpatrick Co Down, and by 1894 they are living in New York.  (But they would return to Ireland)

Please can anyone offer advise on where I should begin with this ?
