Kent Lookup Requests / deaths of Percy and Harriett Pettitt
« on: Monday 31 December 07 21:38 GMT (UK)  »
My g-g-grandfather was Percy Pettitt. He was born in 1853 Warbleton, Sussex.  My g-g-grandma was Harriett Pettitt, nee Brook Foster.  She was born in 1853 Warbleton, Sussex.  At the time of their deaths, I believe they lived in Tonbridge.  This is according to a book I have on my g-grandfather.  I have come to learn that the book is full of a few white lies.
I would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me when my g-g-grandparents died.  Is there a way to find out where they are burried?

Cheryl :)

Kent / Pettitt relatives ?
« on: Monday 31 December 07 02:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hello.   My g-g-grandparents are Henry Percy Pettitt and Harriett Brook Foster.  They were married in 1873.  They had a son George who was born in 1871 before they were married.  My g-grandfather, Albert Edward, was born Aug. 18, 1876.  The 1881 census says he was born in 1871.  ( I have a copy of his b. certificate stating 1876).  Other children born to the marriage were Annie born abt. 1878, Nellie born abt. 1880, Herbert born abt. 1897 and died 1917,  Edith born abt. 1883, Emily born abt. 1890,  Ellen born abt. 1880,  Julia born abt. 1889,  William J. born abt. 1888.  Also possibly a Molly and Mary.  I have a Mary born abt. the same year as Edith.  They could possibly be the same person.
My g-grandfather came to Canada.  He settled in Manitoba.  Many of his sisters moved to New York, USA.  I don't know if any of them married.  I also know nothing about William J.
I have info from the 1881 census.

If anyone out there has info for me, or may be related, I would love to hear from you.
