Technical Help / Ancestry driving me mad!!
« on: Saturday 20 February 16 16:08 GMT (UK)  »
Is it just me or do other people have problems attaching new people to their tree in Ancestry?  I have tried to add a wife to a husband and daughter to a dad and it just says it can't do it at this time and that I should try again or it just won't simply save.  I have tried again and tried several different ways to to do it but still won't let me.  I have enough problems with finding ancestors but Ancestry is making it blooming difficult to keep hold of them when I do eventually find them!  Many thanks for any help

Immigrants & Emigrants - General / From Wolverhampton to Massachusetts?
« on: Saturday 03 October 15 11:29 BST (UK)  »
I have a Patrick McTigue born in Wolverhampton in 1883, his parents were Mark McTigue (born Ireland) and Sarah McNally.  I can find nothing on Patrick except that he might have emigrated to Massachusetts.  I am just wondering if anybody would be able to confirm this (or indeed deny it!). Any help really appreciated as I am at a bit of a loss - thanks

Ireland / Eileen M Ward
« on: Thursday 12 March 15 14:35 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for the birth (or any information at all) regarding Eileen Ward (I believe her middle name may have been Margaret)...I have a few clues that don't seem to be getting me anywhere!  She was born in approximately 1900 in Ireland - she had a grandmother lliving in Waterford but not sure if Eileen was born there.  She obviously left Ireland as in 1933 she married Boyce William Morton at West Derby Registry Office.  I also believe she had a brother Frederick/Freddy and a sister Kathleen who were also living in Liverpool (not sure of other siblings) and I do know she was Roman Catholic.  She died in 1968 in the Birkenhead area.  As I say, a few clues and I have exhausted every avenue I can think of, so any help at all would be gratefully appreciated.

Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / Joseph Harlow
« on: Wednesday 28 May 14 18:50 BST (UK)  »
I have a Joseph Harlow who was born in Roscommon, Ireland in 1889.  In the 1911 census he was a farm labourer living at Pentwyn Farm, Lantwit Vardre, Glamorganshire.  I have searched for a marriage, can find nothing, have searched to see if he emigrated, can find nothing, have searched casualties of WWII, can find nothing - basically hit a brick wall.  Can anybody find out what happened to Joseph after 1911 - he's driving me mad!  Many thanks

Lancashire / What happened to Elise?
« on: Tuesday 26 November 13 17:51 GMT (UK)  »
Elsie Maud Morris born 1878 in Great Bolton married William Morris and had 3 children: Arthur born 1906, Alice 1909-1998 and Peter 1912-1944.  I know William was married previously and had a family and that Elsie married William in 1912 - yes, Arthur and Alice were obviously born out of wedlock. The family were living on the barges around the Salford area and in approx 1915, Elsie gave Alice sixpence and said 'tell your Dad I am going to the butchers' and she was never seen again!  I cannot find any other marriage for Elsie nor can I find any details of her death - does anybody have any idea how I can find out what happened to Elsie?  Many thanks

Cheshire / Ellesmere Port death 1926 - help
« on: Wednesday 09 October 13 11:53 BST (UK)  »
I have William Morris who died in 1926 in Ellesmere Port.  I have tried to find out where he might have been buried/cremated but am having no joy.  He is not at Overpool, not at Christchurch, not at Landican (long shot!), not at Blacon as it didn't open until after 1926.  Where could he be - I really am at a loss.  Many thanks

Cheshire / William Morris
« on: Tuesday 08 October 13 19:24 BST (UK)  »
I have a William Morris born 1850 who worked on the barges.  He married in 1912 to Elsie Maud Morris. What I'm really looking for his death - I have been told he possibly died in 1925 (ish) and is burried in Ellesmere Port - can anybody validate this so I can try and find his death certificate or indeed his grave.  Any help greatly appreciated.

I have a William Meadows born Newport Pagnell 1862, his father is Thomas, mother is Susan.  At some point he got married and had a son Robert George born Birkenhead in 1887.  I cannot find the marriage of William Meadows - possibly Eleanor (but no concrete evidence).  If anybody could help me find the marriage I would be very grateful - many thanks

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Elizabeth Good
« on: Tuesday 20 August 13 18:05 BST (UK)  »
I have an Elizabeth Good born circa 1855 in Birkenhead.  In 1891 (age 36) she is staying with the Dillon family in Birkenhead with Andrew Good (age 26) and Herbert Good (age 2).  I am thinking that the age of Andrew is wrong and this is in fact her son? In 1901 she is living in her own house in Birkenhead together with Andrew (now age 14), Herbert (age 12) and Emily (age 9).  In 1911 she is living at the same address with Herbert (now 22), Emily (age 19) and Emily's husband Robert George Meadows.  So where is the husband?  I have found one possible match - Elizabeth Sanders marrried George Good in 1883 in Liverpool - George's dad was Andrew which would tie in with Elizabeth and George naming their son Andrew. Assuming George was the husband can anybody find his death?  He was a ship's steward so may have died at sea - help!!!
