« on: Sunday 30 November 08 19:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hi my hunting is going nowhere   :-\  joseph smith was ( i think) married to gladys surname unknown in walsall, they adopted my dad in 1946. I can find no record of their marriage and therefore no maiden name for gladys and no parents/siblings of either.
I know gladys had a sister augusta who married frederick chamley and that both joseph and gladys were registered as blind.
This is a real challenge for someone cz I am all out of ideas.

Family History Beginners Board / Marriage look ups
« on: Wednesday 26 November 08 14:58 GMT (UK)  »
Hi I cant find out Gladys Smith's maiden name as I dont have d.o.b and marriage records from back then dont show a partners name. Her approximate year of birth could be around 1905-10 and she married Joseph Thomas Smith (needle in a haystack name), not sure when. The only other info I have is that she adopted a son in 1946 and that both she and Joseph were registered as blind. Oh and she had a sister Augusta.
I keep asking everyone for a subscribtion to genes for xmas so that I can search till my hearts content, as adding credits isgetting really costly and frustrating.
Thank you

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) Lookup Requests / Burial in Hull?
« on: Wednesday 26 November 08 14:26 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all, need help again   ???  Just discovered that my dad may have been buried in Hull, I was always told that he was cremated and his ashes scattered, does anyone know how I can find out?
If anyone has access to the records, he died 08/08/1973 but there was an inquest that didn't end untill Nov 1973 so unsure when he would have been buried. His name was George Leonard Smith d.o.b 27/04/1946, he died in Hull infirmary.
Thank you

Any info gratefully recieved, thanks
