Australia / Hamilton Neilson to Australia in about 1880

 in approx. 1880 Hamilton Neilson from Peebles, Scotland left with his young wife Anne(Prosser) and baby to take part in the gold rush in Queensland.He returned to Scotland towards the end of the century.He mined gold at Gympie,half a day's drive from us in Australia.
How can we locate the name of the ship either way?
Queensland Archives seem to have only assisted passage records.
Any suggestions appreciated.
