Suffolk / Elizabeth Wright (nee Jermyn) born circa 1806
« on: Sunday 30 April 17 22:42 BST (UK)  »
I'm hoping someone maybe able to help me please.

I'm trying to find the parents and or siblings of Elizabeth Jermyn. According to the various census, she was born in Hopton, Suffolk around 1806, as was her husband Henry Wright (b. 1805 Hopton). However, as they married in Great Yarmouth on  April 4th, 1827 I was wondering if she may have actually originated from that area? A Henry Jermyn and a Mary Ann Jermyn were witnesses at the wedding.

Elizabeth and her husband Henry lived in Hopton and had 5 children.

I'm having trouble finding any baptismal or birth info for Elizabeth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Haltwhistle Lookup Please
« on: Friday 09 July 10 16:52 BST (UK)  »
I'm wondering if someone could help me with this one please?

'Cuthbartt Birket' married Elizabeth Maughan on 3rd August 1811 in Haltwhistle.

From the census, both Cuthbert and Elizabeth were born in Haltwhistle around 1787.

They went on to have children named Hannah (1811), Cuthbert (1826) and Thomas (1829). I suspect they had many other children as there are large gaps between their childrens birth years.

Could anyone help me with the baptimal records for Cuthbert or Elizabeth please?

Many thanks......

I'm struggling with this one I'm afraid.....I'm trying to trace the baptism records for a Deborah Peacock.

All I know is her marriage details from 7th July 1801 in Grinton - ' John White and Deborah Peacock , both of ys par., by banns, 7th July [1801], by T Edmondson. Wit: William Close, Ann Close, Richard Mason, Elin White (John's mother?), Betty Close.'

She and John went on to have several children, whose names included Agnes (Grinton, 1802); Mary (Grinton, 1804); Ruth (Grinton, 1806) and also I hope John (abt 1808).

Any help with any information on Deborah or her parents/family would be gratefully received....

Thanks!

I'm hoping someone out there can please help me........

In the Grinton Parish register for 1783 it reads:
' Banns between Willm White, ys par., & Elinor Thwaits, par. of Richmond, were pub. 6, 13, 20 Jul. Married at Richmond.'

I know nothing about Elinor and her family, so any information would be very gratefully received whether concerning her marriage in Richmond or baptism or anything else pertaining to her parentage/family.

Any help which you can give me would be very much appreciated.....

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping someone out there may be able to help me as I've drawn a complete blank with this one.

Sophia Marriner married a William Charles Jeffery on 25th December 1898 in Edmonton, London.

I cannot find her or her family in any of the census (pre or post marriage) or anything at all about her or her family.

There is some family recollection that she was possibly born around 1881 in the Tottenham area and that she had siblings called Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Jim (James). She died on 21st May 1970 in Meldrith, Cambridgeshire.

I'm doing this research on behalf of my aunt, so any help with this one would be gratefully recieved.

Many thanks.........

The Common Room / Advice Please on Probate Info - COMPLETED - THANK YOU
« on: Sunday 13 June 10 10:02 BST (UK)  »
I have managed to find details from the Index to Death Duty Register 1796 - 1903 which gives:
Date (1871)
Name of Testator
Residence (in this case just the town - Scarborough)
Name of Executor
Court (York)
Register (2)
Folio (575)

I have looked at the link given recently on the subject of wills and am still a little confused - is the above information all I need to obtain a copy of the will?

Also, after the name of the Executor there appears the initial 's.p.' and the word  'rauis', 'raur', 'taus' or something similar - it is very difficult to decipher but does appear after the names of quite a few other Executors in the register. Does any one know what 's.p.' and the other word stands for and/or means please?

Any help would be gratefully received........many thanks.
