Can anyone help with the date of this photo?

I found this chap in a charity shop in Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland, Co Durham and would dearly love to find out as much as I can about him. The photo size is 17” x 13.5”, mounted on rather thick card and framed within thin dark wood.  There is nothing at all written on the card, so no clue as to the photographer, although it is very professional and still in the original frame, which is backed with brown paper. It looks like the photo has been touched up or shaded somehow, leaving a sheen in places.  Any help would be most appreciated. Maybe this post could be linked to the Durham Board.  Thank you.

Flintshire Look up - Hollywell - could anyone help?
I have found marriage entry for William Pierce and Margaret Jones, Hollywell, 3rd quarter, 1868. Would the parish records tell me the parent's names, or will I have to send for the certificate? Any help would be appreciated.

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Fletcher, Jones, tree, Chester/Mold, Flintshire
« on: Monday 09 March 09 15:57 GMT (UK)  »
Has anyone done the Fletcher/Jones/Davies/Evans Tree? I am stuck around 1840's.  Joseph Fletcher (born 1864 Chester Castle) from Gt Boughton, Chester married Elizabeth Jones from Mold, Flintshire. Joseph's father was John, from Chester.  I am trying to find Elizabeth's family on the census, however, as there are "millions" of Jones' in Wales, I am struggling big time! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
