Does anyone know where/ if  I can find info on someone who was working as a custon house officer in north wales & possibly Liverpool area approx 1890 -1900. would there  be official records held somewhere ?

The name is Robert Wynne Hughes and is listed as the father on my  GG Grandfathers marriage cert in 1895 ( Also listed  as father on GG uncles MArriage cert 1892 )

any help appreciated as I canot find birth record for GG Gfather or GG uncle and cannot find Robert Wynne Hughes on any census . I am not sure if he existed or was he made up by the boys mother

Can Anyone Help ?

I am trying to find info on Robert George Byron.  He was in Barry South Glamorgan  approx 1945  and was working as a hairdresser. Believed to be living at Phyllis St Barry.
He may have been born approx 1905 

The only Birth I can find for someone of this name is in Nottingham 1904. ( also a death in Nottingham 1982 )

Please someone check the trade directory or electoral roll for me or point me in the right direction.

Can anyone tell me what the christian name and occupation is

The surname is Barnes and this is the father of the groom on a marriage cert from 1848.

I have a idea what they could be but would like a second opinion.

I am trying to trace My Great Grandfathers birth and his father but am getting nowhere fast !!!

Alice Hughes with her widowed father ( Richard Hughes ) as unmarried along with her son Richard Wynne Hughes.


Hugh Born born abt 1873 Edyrn/Edern Carnarvon Father as listed as Robert Wynne on Hugh's Marriage cert ( Occupation Custom House Officer ) Deceased by 1895 but cant find a definate death for him

She then Married Hugh Roberts in 1877  as shown on 1881 census

With Mother Alice & step father etc ( Richard And Hugh Both have same Father according to their Marriage Certs
( Robert Wynne Hughes deceased by 1895 but cannot find a definate Death record )

dec 1895 Hugh Married Sarah Ann Jones Merthyr Tydfil age 26 ( occupation Collier )

1901 & 1911 Living with Wife Sarah and children
shown on his daughters Marriage  Cert jan 1940 as Hugh John Hughes ( Deceased ) Occupation Colliery Surface Labourer.

Hugh died in  Jan 1918 King Edward Hospital Cardiff ( i have cert and is 100% correct . was living in Tylorstown at time of death  Shown as aged 45 .

there is no record of Hugh's Mother Alice with Robert Wynne Hughes on any census  and no marriage .
Alice is showing as unmarried on 1871 with one son ( Richard ) and living with her widowed father, She then goes on to have another son (Hugh) with Robert Wynne Hughes .

I have tried tracking the father (Robert Wynne Hughes  ) Through  Richards Birth cert .... there were 2 Richard Hughes Born in Liverpool sept and Dec 1867, I have Both certs and neither show mother Alice or father Robert !!!

I have no Idea where to go next ?

Sorry if this is a lot of info I know some of you out there like a bit of a challenge.
