Europe / Hasselt marriage 1757
« on: Thursday 08 July 21 02:36 BST (UK)  »
In the Hasselt book of marriages: The groom hails from Rouveen but I can't work out where he is residing. I can't work out the place of birth of the bride and it looks like she resides at the same place as the groom. I can't find a baptisms for any of their children in Hasselt. Where would be a good place to look. Many thanks in advance.

Pembrokeshire / Thomas Wogan Morris
« on: Wednesday 31 October 18 03:59 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for a Thomas Wogan Morris born ca: 1910 (perhaps a little earlier) who may or may not fit into my Morris and Wogan family trees. Last known address for him ca. 1923 was Myrtle Cottage, Hundleton. His parents may have been George Harris Morris and Sarah Jane Wogan. Many thanks in advance.

United States of America / Peter Carel/Karel Antonius van der Hilst
« on: Tuesday 29 August 17 05:47 BST (UK)  »
I am searching for Peter C.A. van der Hilst who was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 1891. Apparently at some time or other he left The Netherlands for the U.S. and according to FamilySearch was drafted into the army 1842. In 1942 he was 51 years of age. Surely he would have been too old to be drafted into the army??? Anyone have any further information on Peter?
Many thanks in advance. Cheers.

« on: Friday 25 August 17 08:18 BST (UK)  »
I have FTM version 11 and am thinking of  creating a family book for a friend. However, I can't work out how to get the pictures into the scrapbook and I've thrown out the instruction manual many moons ago. In the past I've done my books in Publisher. Any advice and help very much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Ball family in Portsea
« on: Tuesday 11 October 16 02:33 BST (UK)  »
I am researching the Ball family in Portsea, Hampshire. Thomas and Mary Ball had 6 children one of whom was Frances Ball born 1814. According to FamilySearch.org, a Frances Ball had a son Thomas Henry Williams Ball christened on the 11th of May 1827. In 1836 a Frances Ball married a Thomas Henry Williams. If it is one and the same Frances, this would mean that she was only 13 years old at the time of her sons birth. I've tried finding this couple in census records on FamilySearch with no luck. Many thanks in advance.

Sussex / John Clark born in Brighton, Sussex.
« on: Friday 19 August 16 13:16 BST (UK)  »
According to the 1851, 1861 and 1871 census, John Clark was born in Brighton, Sussex ca. 1789-1791. I can't find his birth on FamilySearch. He had a couple children with the names Sarah Messar/Messor/Mason Clark and a John Braby Clark. I mention these names because they may connect somehow, somewhere to his parents. He only had the one son (mentioned) and 6 daughters. The eldest daughter was named after her mother Lucy and the second daughter was named Sophia. Perhaps the Christian name of John's mother???? Many thanks in advance. Cheers!

Australia Lookups completed / Adoption Records
« on: Wednesday 13 July 16 23:57 BST (UK)  »
I am researching an ancestor who may have been adopted circa 1870's. On his marriage and death certificates the names of his parents are not given which leads me to think that he may have been adopted or was reared in an orphanage. Does anyone know if adoption records for this era are now available to the public? Any kind of advice greatly appreciated. Cheers.
