I assume so. She is on the 1861 census at 8 Pemberton St Bishopwearmouth. The husband is absent.

Many thanks. This is definitely my family.

On the 1881 census, William's father James is shown as a block and mast maker.

Dorothy Taylor was Dorothy Noble Metcalf and her mother was Elizabeth Melvin.

You have given me lots to work with. The only census I have access to is 1881 online, so I certainly appreciate your help.
