Antrim / Bannon not on census
« on: Thursday 20 October 11 10:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I can't seem to find my ancestors on the 1901/11 census, I can find no trace at all. Anybody any idea why? Do you think it's possible that the record has been lost? Does anyone know what percentage complete the online records are

I have had a good hunt through it, even looking at everyone with the surname Bannon! As far as I am aware they had to be in Belfast, I've never heard of them moving around. I have heard that John Bannon was at one stage in the Connaught Rangers, but on my Great Grandmother's birth certificate he is listed as a labourer. Did they hide army census records.

I am looking for John Bannon (d1937) (parents - John Bannon & ?) who married Rose Ann Kerr (parents John Kerr & Ellen Lamb) in 1907. My Great Grandmother Elizabeth Bannon was born in 1908 in Belfast.

Thanks

FA

Malcolmson Street is a possibility, as it in West Belfast and his son lived just off the Falls Road. The marriage record is from St. Mary's in Belfast. I went down to PRONI and looked up the microfilm of the church records. I will have to get a copy of it.

Hi

Sorry I really should have made that clearer on my first post. Unfortunately I have no idea where they were from in Derry. There is a street name listed on Louis Donaghy's marriage certificate to Catherine Lowe, where his father John lived. Unfortunately it is practically unreadable. This is my own clue but it isnt a very good one, it looks like Maleniam Street but again that is only a guess.

Thanks
Eoin

Hi

Thank you very much for the information, although I do have most of this, except the death of Lewis (Louis) in 1902 - Thanks!

I am really looking information about where they came from in Derry, or where you could the birth information.

Hi

I am looking on information about the Donaghy family originally from Derry but moved to Belfast. My 3x Great Grandfather Louis Donaghy was born around 1856 somewhere in Derry and moved to Belfast. He married Catherine Lowe in 1873. His father is listed as John Donaghy.

Unfortunately this is all of the information that I have to go on.

Thanks in advance for any help

Eoin

Yeah I have but these records are slightly too early. I am looking to bridge the gap from between these and when my Grandmother was born in 1927

Down / Flanagan - Moira
« on: Thursday 13 October 11 13:56 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for information on my Grandmother mother's family, the Flanagans. My Grandmother, Norah, died in 2004 so I don't have very much information. From looking at my Granmother's birth record she was born in Moira Co. Down on 29/07/1927 to Patrick Flanagan and Catherine McKeown. I think Patrick Flanagan served in the war as I have a photo of him in uniform.

Any information would be great!
