Hi anyone have any information about burntisland after extensive research i have got back on my tree as far as bunrtisland, am looking for ways to find folk that never appeaed on a census or any other records that where on scotlands people website, am looking for a hinksman most likely german tha came to fife burntislamd some time after 1760, i do know that the north sea was refered to the german ocean in that time, looking to find a ship captain that came here form germany, and clues etc would be grateful as am in a dead here regards jim

just to give you some information about why am into dundee area, my ancesters where fish merchants etc in dundee and newport areas. seems 40 blackscroft street was one place the stayed and 124 seagate and a few in the 130s as well so i would suspect this may have been a tenement or something.
 i also have a other few address in the same area that i wonder if you know

12 woddusburn place dundee (some spellings maybe wrong, records hard to read)

these addresses are where my family lived in dundee, i have been trying for ages to see if i can get some info on these places as when i was also there i went to see if i could find a grave for my great great grandfather, on death cert says he died 1885 in liff bevie and invergowie, denhead of gray, found invergowie but no graveyard except for a tiny one , and well denhead of grey was just a few wee cottages.
Have been trying to find folk in your area with a connection to the names

Thanks very much for that i was up in area looking into things a few weeks ago, i went looking for Blackscroft but stooped at the roundabout just after seagate, as i couldnt see any houses uo blackscroft street, wonder if you would be able to help me as you have local knowledge of dundee i have a few address and am unable to find them on a map, alot of who am searching for on my family tree lived in dundee, but as am not from the area, if i sent you a few address would you be able to tell me if they are still standing etc.

Thanks very much russell i shall try them old maps, forgan it seems was part of Newport on Tay back in 1861, went up to area few weekends ago and did find forgan which was on the outskirts of newport.
