Yes, I think that must be him - how did you find that?
I knew his mother was Margaret but didn't know her surname but it fits nicely.

By 1881 they were back in Bradford W Yorkshire which is where I got mum's name and the rough date of birth for Charles.  Just need to find out why he moved around so much, I assume he was in the army but would love to find out which regiment.

No I have no marriage or birth certs.

Not really sure how to go about getting them as the marriage was in Canada and the births were all over the place!!

World War Two / Middlesex Yeomanry WW2
« on: Monday 24 December 07 08:46 GMT (UK)  »
I am searching for information about my uncle, Rene Laverack. In 1941 he was in No 3 squadron, Middlesex Yeomanry, 10th armoured division - info from a Christmas message sent to his brother.

I understand from members of the family that he was involved in a tank battle but no-one seems to know where or when but know it was a very disasterous battle. It seems he was the radion operator in the tank and not many survived the battle.

Can anyone help me with info about him, his regiment or the battle, thanks

Kildare / Move from Canada to Curragh

My g grandfather Thomas Mitchell b 1840 in England, was in Quebec around 1861-1865, he married Margaret and had two sons there Thomas 1863 and John 1864.  the family then moved back to Devon England, James born 1866 and then to Curragh, Charles born 1869.

I wondered if anyone could throw some light on why he would move around so much, could he have been in the armed forces and if so how could I find out which regiment he was with?
