Hi Barbara

Thankyou for the lookup. I didn't have the details of the marriage so that helps.

i'd love to find out where he meant by Houghton Waters but it's a tricky one

Thanks again

Kent / Samuel Dann & Rachel Marriage
« on: Friday 27 July 12 12:25 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Would anyone be able to find this marriage for me please?

I have spent many years trying to find this marriage without any luck and i'm hoping someone might be able to knock down the brickwall for me.
My ancestor was Samuel Dann and he was born in Burwash in Sussex circa 1791. His wife was named Rachel and she was born in Gloucestershire (the place of birth within Gloucestershire changes within census). They lived in Sandhurst in Kent. Their first child Mary Ann was born in Sandhurst in 1820.
No matter how hard i look i cannot find a marriage anywhere for them

Please help!

Thanks
Rich

Hi

Wonder if someone could possibly look me up the following please?

My ancestor was Rosa Crookes she was the Irish wife of army Sargent Benjamin Crookes. I have a asylum record for in from 1868 in which she is admitted to the Stanley asylum near Wakefield in Yorkshire. On this record it states that she had been admitted to the Isle of Wight asylum 22 years since. I am hoping there is a admission record for her at the asylum circa 1846.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

Hi

My grandmother was Alice Mabel Longhurst (nee Frost). She was born in Lydd in 1895 and died in Lydd in Aug 1938. I phoned up the relevant service in Kent and asked if they would look me up the burial for her in Lydd. They did but couldn't find her burial.
Any idea's where she could be burried?

Thanks

Lancashire / John Hall from Houghton Water?
« on: Friday 27 July 12 11:49 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Would anyone be able to help me with this please?

My ancestor was John Hall. He married Lydia Kay in Manchester in 1834 and they lived in her home city of Sheffield.
The family don't appear on the 1851 census but on the 1861 1871 census John puts down his place of birth as Lancashire. The 1871 census showing Houghton Waters.

I have found an Hoghton near Blackburn and a Haughton near Denton. But don't know where Houghotn Waters is.
I did find a baptism for a John Hall in Blackburn in 1813 stating the abode as Houghton. Could this be him?

Any help on Houghton Waters or confirming John's baptism would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Rich
