Hi All
I am trying to find any information on the above person.
I have him on the 1841 census for Comrie Perthshire his age is given as 56 occupation army pensioner and he is married to Elizabeth McNaughton.
I have tried the records at NAS but to many possibilities.

Try Muthil or Comrie both in Perthshire for McEwen also McAra is a common name in both Muthil and Comrie.
I to have McEwen's from the same area

Yes there are two burial grounds in comrie
one on the crieff side of the river earn in the grounds of what now is a community center, the old white church on the main road.

The other is the cemetery which is still in use which is at the other end of commrie as you head towards stirling
