I know what you're saying - I thought she maybe got pregnant and came to NZ to have it. But if she came in 1895 and didn't have Frank until 1901 then maybe she did come alone or with a brother just to immigrate.

So lets see this cert and thanks for help so far

Yes I was just thinking the same thing - so have ordered the cert. Assuming this is our Nellie Fuller and there seems to be no other. This marriage cert should point me in the right direction

Thanks for all help so far

Hello and thank you everyone
Yes Frank was born Auckland.
If that is Nellie on the passenger list 1895. That makes her only 19-20. Is it likely she immigrated on her own at that age?

Monica when I first started looking into the John Blackburns and Ann Wallaces I thought I must be dealing with about 3 couples with the same name as the births were ranging from 1777-1796. Hence my confusion. But what I think you may be telling me is that this is one enormous family and that James on the death cert was actually 15 years older than Alex..... Yes?

Thanks for the info about the word Wright and the occupation site I better go and check it out!

Also how do you tell the difference between an actual and a submitted entry? I'll go and see if I can figure that one out!

Cheers Shaza

Monica just looked up Alexanders death cert 1861. Both parents deceased. John Blackburn "Wright" - I didn't know what that was but now you have written it above -wright!
So I'm thinking this IS the right family.
But - the informant on the cert was a James Blackburn brother!   ???  He isn't George is he?

And then how on earth does Margaret fit in - so much older! A daughter or an Aunt

Monica I just did what you said about parents for my John Blackburn and Ann Wallace (parents of Alexander) and I still can't figure how to differenciate them from all the rest. All I THINK I know is that Alex was b. 1818 and he had a brother James All Lochwinnoch. This might be my dead end and I'll have to face it for now??????????
