Hi Neil,

Checked the Cleveland Standard newspaper from Oct 1st until end of December 1941.
No obituary found.       ( Lot of pages missing from newspaper )
The story ran on Saturday November 1st.  almost word for word as the Echo story.
I will do a search of other papers next week for you. With luck something might turn up.

Eddie.

Hello Neil,

Looked up the Middlesbrough Evening Gazette for Wednesday October 22 1941.

Mayor of North East Town Dies In Air Raid:   The Mayor and a number of prominent citizens, including the chairman of the local magistrates and a town councillor lost their lives in a raid last night, when a club suffered a direct hit.   The story goes on to name some of the victims but no mention of  a Mr Charles Harris.

I am in Redcar on Friday 7 march so will check the Cleveland Standard news paper for you.

Hi Luke1984,

As Sillgen stated no records have survived.  I have however found a newspaper report of the inquest.

Dent and a jury held an inquest on the death of John Featherstone Dodds age 58.Who died from injuries received by being run over.       On the 1st inst,  The deceased, who was intoxicated, endeavoured to get on the shafts of a Rolley, laden with flour whilst it was in motion and he slipped. One of the fore wheels of the Rolley passing over the lower part of his body. The injured man was taken to the North Riding Infirmary.
Where he lingered till Wednesday, when he expired.  A verdict of Accidental Death was returned.

Hi Jaysholme,
I have the Gazette report of the coroners inquest.  The coroners actual report was destroyed some time after the inquest.

Hi  AfricanDream,
Looking through some more Electoral Rolls today came upon your Jones family.
1913 roll has a Charles William Jones living at 21 Carlton Street M'bro.                                     Also on the 1913 roll is a Charles William Jones living at 64 Church Street M'bro.

Jump forward now to 1922 Spring Roll.
21 Carlton Street.  Elizabeth Jones.  Cyril Jones. Harry Jones. They are C W's brothers.
Also at 6 Carlton Street is a Walter Piggott..

I will look some more next week.

Hi Sandra,

Looks like I have drawn a blank with Alice's marriage certificate. No fathers name shown.
Will have to try census and birth records for Chicago and Ohio.

Regards Eddie.
