Thanks for the information about Padnall Hall being pulled down.

Please can you tell me was it occupied in 1891 by anybody at all or whether anybody lived in the cottage.

Thanks for replying.

John Davies was born 22 April 1861 at Ty Fry Gemming Street Gwernglefryd St Asaph, his mother was called Emma and she was unmarried.  In 1871 he lived with his grandmother Mary at Talar St Asaph.  I cannot find him between that census and the census in 1901 when he was now a widower and lodging at 30 Watling Street Llanrwst and his occupation was a Sadler.  In 1907 he married Annie and they lived at 4 Chapel Place Denbigh.

After he was born I could find no trace of Emma Davies his mother she could have died or remarried.

Trying to find the names of John Davies' first wife and children he had at least two daughters one who supposedly ended up living in Rhyl and the other emigranted to Canada.  He was a widower in 1901 and married again in 1907 does anybody know this family.

Thanks for that Dawn I wonder if you would mind passing on another query for me please.

I am trying to trace where Annie (Ann) Francis born 25 November 1877 in Great Leighs Essex was in 1901.  I know that she married John Davies in 1907 and lived in Denbigh but in 1901 I cannot find her at all.

Many thanks

Thanks for the latest bit of information.  I wish I had more that I could tell you.  The only information I had was vague he was supposed to have married and had a son and was living in Birkenhead.  I was just wondering what had happened to him as he was my grandmother's only brother in fact there were only the two of them as their father died at the age of 37.
Their mother married again and they had a half brother and sister.
