Mchka489.   But wouldn’t “Teresa” have had to show her BC at the time of marriage?

And was it right to resign the MC 6 years after the marriage?

Ashtone. I may be wrong, but don’t think Harry had a sibling called George William.  There was a George Albert?…..

mckha489:   I can’t see any connection with this family tbh, as none of the names have previously cropped up.

But, who knows??

Mchak489:   What a story!  The antics of the generations remain the same.  Such a rum lot?

I’m the niece of Edith.  My father was her brother.

They spent many years in Brighowgate children’s home while their mother, Annie, lived & worked in the Gy workhouse

I didn’t know she’d obtained a copy of her MC

At last I’ve managed to get hold of the MC

So that makes Teresa b 1911 & yet I can’t find any birth record for her, nor anything about her father.

The key query here is:  why did Teresa call all her children Hibbert and yet on birth records put her name down as Teresa (formerly Woollas) and not Budlin (which was her official maiden name).

According to the 1939 register and the 1945/46 Poll register she was listed as Teresa Hibbert.

If only I could find out Teresa’s mother’s maiden name.  Am I missing something?

Think I’ll have to get their MC.

The other bizarre thing is:  on the 1945/46 Poll Register it showed Harry & Teresa Hibbert living at 214 Heneage Road, Grimsby.

In the 1946 one there is no mention of them two, but an Edith Nundy living there (who later became the common law wife of Harry!  In fact she gave birth to his son later that same year - December’46!

From 1949 Harry & Edith were living at 49 Pershore Avenue, Grimsby (until he died in 1960) but there is no more info anywhere for this Teresa ever since the poll register 45/46.  So what happened to her we don’t know.  Certainly we can find no death record.

Oh what tangled webs they wove….

Morning Gan Yam

It is a complete mystery.

We know that Teresa Budlin married Harry Hibbert in ‘34.  Possibly this Janet T Hibbert was a result of that marriage (b 1935)

Then we have a Maureen J (b 1938), Jill (b ‘40), Keith R (b ‘41), and Roy BH (b ‘43).  All mothers are Woollas.

But on Roy’s BC, Teresa Hibbert’s maiden name is down as ‘formerly Woollas’ - not Budlin!  Am I missing something so obvious….
