Thanks for your help. I have now found Eliza and who I believe to be her sister Lucy also their parents. I am now unable to find the family in the 1841 census, althogh I believe I have found Eliza with her aunt in the 1851 census. No sign of Lucy or the parents.

                            Any ideas ?

Can anyone help.
Looking for Eliza Robinson all I know about her is

From 1851 census living with Cousin Elizabeth Coleman at Holbeach Lincs. Eliza is down as being born at Tydd St. Giles Cambridgeshire age 17 in 1851
She was married August 5th 1860 to William Shaw at Legbourne in Lincolnshire. Her father is shown as being Thomas Robinson.
I have found several Eliza / Elizabeth Robinsons born in Cambridgeshire in the 1841 census but the only one showing Thomas Robinson as a father was born at ( civil parish ) St. Andrew The Less, another shows Royston Union Workhouse. Any ideas  Kath.

Pels
Thanks again the info re Jane Evans is very useful, Regards Mary Haynes death, if it is correct, Luton 1847 then she died before Henry and John were born, I will therefore have to look into that even more closely. Very intriguing.
Regards the 1841 census for Jane Evans senior is there any mention of a husband? was she a widow? Also how do you obtain so much detail without travelling to Somerset ?

                              Yours ever greatful Kath   :) ;) :) ;) :) ;)
