Thanks Max and Cathy

Cathy :

Checked that service number already...no luck unfortunately.  He was from Caernafon.

Max:

I Was in contact with someone from the Royal Welsh forum..recently they explained that to his knowledge that no Fusiliers were captured. But I will make contact with museum..see what they have to say.Visited there, some years ago now. Might go again, when I visit the family in Wales.

Thank you both

Thought it would be worth a try. Would of been, easier, if I had a service number. Makes it difficult to find him and he lied about his age
..so makes it even more difficult. My dad remembers playing with his medals that we no longer have anymore. He believes it to be The Burma Star. But not 100% sure.Thank you for your reply thou.

Hello all!

Would really appreciate some help or advice!

My granddad William John Jones, believed to have served with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers during WW2 was also POW.
I have no service number.. wrote to the Mod, unfortunately they're unable to trace him. I understand he lied about his age to enlist. Family members believe he may have gone to India. All I have is one photo and his birth & death certificate. Would love some advice! Thank you all
